Re: Katana vs Return Of The Living Dead

Cleaving through a skull with a katana isn't a great idea. Bone, anything metal etc will, eventually, chip and break the relatively thin blade of the sword. They also tend to rely on the sharpness of the sword, which is prone to nicks and burrs. Sure, they can cut through bone, but they are a slash...

Re: Katana vs Return Of The Living Dead

Thank you for explaining that to me. Wal Mart, Target, and any type of shopping malls are they absolute worst places to be during an outbreak. I understand that completely. That is the first place the untrained people will herd too. I'm not sure what you meant as far as a Katana not being able to cu...

Re: Katana vs Return Of The Living Dead

I have a 79.95 rifle It came with a bayonet. i think its worth the .95 ETA I have a variety of other firearms the mosins just the cheapest I don't think you understand what I was getting at. I wasn't arguing that rifles aren't superior. I was arguing that you don't HAVE to purchase a thousand dolla...

Re: Request: Post Your Bug Out Bags

Nah, the spinny thingy is a rip off of the Blade replica, made with folding blades like a lock-back, the object that looks like a black shovel w/ metal rings on the "handle" is a scabbard for the Blade Sword replica. And for what its worth, more corrective critism: What does anyone expect to do wit...

Re: Katana vs Return Of The Living Dead

for $500 i'd rather buy 6 Mosin Nagants They are certainly not for everyone. I would absolutely feel safer with a firearm over a Katana but I would feel even safer with both. That's just me though. I've been training for 11 years now and I have to think that I would utilize what I've learned. As fo...

Re: How would YOU kill a zombie?

If Zaks are coming in my bedroom single file I think I would grab a Ko Katana and remove heads until we could barricade it up while my wife helps. If they are in the way of us getting to our vehicle (not too much congestion, just a dozen or so) and the next step in my plan requires me to be driving ...

Re: Katana vs Return Of The Living Dead

I've taken Karate since I was 10 and have an unhealthy obsession with Katana's. Iaido being my strongest ability. Realistically, it would not be ideal to only have a Kat in a zombie apocalypse scenario. Not even close. However, for someone with any training at all, it would be wise to have a full ta...

My Kats. Most of them are made by Musashi Swords. One of the Wakizashi's is Paul Chen Hanwei and one is CS. There are also a couple $20 ones that I practice with and beat on. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm274/TerryGecko/Tactical%20Equipment/Alltheswords.jpg http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Ruger Charger vs. Kel Tec PLR .22

The size of the Charger, give or take. I would prefer something smaller though. Find and handle a MKII or MKIII (god forbid you can't find a MKII) target model to see if you'll like it. There isn't really a pistol or rifle with a higher capacity than the Charger or 10/22. Gotcha. I guess it's not s...

One of the Ruger .22 pistols can have a scope or optic mounted to it, and will shoot just as well as the charger. The only real benefit to the charger, IMO, is the higher-capacity magazines.
Exactly.

So basically, what pistol to small rifle size gun has a higher magazine capacity?

Re: Ruger Charger vs. Kel Tec PLR .22

Are you looking for a rifle or a pistol...you mention wanting a rifle then give examples of pistols...and I confuse easily...lol. Given a choice of what you listed I would vote Ruger. In 9mm I know several folks who have had good luck with the various MPA handguns and rifles as well. My brother has...

Re: Ruger Charger vs. Kel Tec PLR .22

Is "other" an option? There are quite a few highly accurate .22lr pistols that take up about half as much space as either of these two guns. Ruger, Browning, Beretta, and Smith & Wesson all make an entry into that market. The smaller guns (Mark 1, 2, and 3, Neos, etc) have been around long enough t...

Re: Ruger Charger vs. Kel Tec PLR .22

You listed two 22lr and said you are wanting a 9MM? :? But between the two listed its RUGER charger all the way. No, I was asking which is the better gun of the two. However, if anyone can recommend me a another gun that isn't in the poll, I would prefer .22 or 9mm. Thanks for the recommendation th...

Ruger Charger vs. Kel Tec PLR .22

What do you guys think? I'm looking for a small .22 or 9mm rifle that is semi auto, fun to shoot, structurally sound, reasonably lightweight, etc... I've also been looking at a 9mm rifle made by Kel Tec that has a collapsible stock. The name of it escapes me but I know that a Glock magazine fits in ...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?

My wife and I took my FNP-9 to the range. We only shot 150 rounds but I just got my pistol bayonet and wanted to try it out. Basically to see if it moved at all while shooting it. So: 150 rounds $30 2 targets $3 Range time $21 Looking to purchase a Ruger Charger in the next week. We'll see... EDIT: ...

Re: Greetings from Oklahoma

Hello DrunkWookie, I currently reside in NC but am moving to Tulsa OK in a few months. Man, I love the gun laws in OK. My wife went to BassPro applied for an FNH FNP-9 and about 45 minutes later we were shooting our new handgun at a local range. I'm picking up a few more when I switch my license ove...

lol, my earlier pics were for zombiesurvivalwiki.com. I completely forgot that I posted them here. I deserve any ridicule I got since I didn't realize I posted them on ZS. Here is my real BOB.
