Re: Shotguns - The most overrated weapon for zombies

Testing will have to be postponed. I have been recently lit up with calls. I went from a few quick things on the list to, my whole day is gone and maybe the next too. Good news, I am getting paid for most of it.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Was discussing Eugene's explanation of how the "cure" worked with a friend and he had an interesting thought - while it'll probably end up being BS of the highest quality, could the writers be referencing/calling out the World War Z movie? Since in that movie (Spoiler alert!!) The way to make yours...

Re: What do you think of this ammo

...The one that makes you able to get a head shot from a mile away with 14 inch carbines. I don't think there's a bullet on the planet that makes a person able to get head shots from a mile away. Sure, some cartridges are better at this job than others, but it's a matter of skill, not equipment. If...

Ameriglo. They have some contrast sights that are amazing, the pics on the internet do not do them justice. I just got a yellow/green front sight and it rocks. I coupled it with a plain black steel sight with a flat front. All is was about $70. Redeyes, da basterd, got a set of orange/yellow that m...

Re: DIY cheap sword targets video

Cool. I like Skallagrim's videos. I know nothing about swords so someone explaining things to me in simple language is nice. I would like to get some training sometime in the future. Martial arts training is a bigger priority right now though.

Neat idea about the cloth chenessfan.

Shouldn't be any parallax that close. Height over bore is a bigger issue. Aim about 2" high.
No Probs. I zap bad guy behind hostage targets like a mofo. Milcopp bros can attest.

Re: Shotguns - The most overrated weapon for zombies

ETA Coconuts will be swinging on a pendulum. Although I am a huge fan of this idea, I do not believe that I will be able to run this test in its current form. My wife has informed me that the cost would be prohibitive here, and that wasting that many macaroons would be tragic. But it does look like...

Re: Shotguns - The most overrated weapon for zombies

I have procured suitable coconuts. If all goes well, I will shoot them on Monday. I will pattern the shotgun I am going to use so that the pellets fit in a hand size group and use that distance for both the shotgun and an AR-15. I expect it to be about 10 yards. I will use my pendulum. Expect pics....

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

I've handled those magazines before. They are shit. They may or may not work, who knows really. But the quality of design and feel was shit. I do see D&H GI mags with Magpul followers for 6.99 sometimes, though. Anybody here use or like the Troy mags? I got some of the D&H at that price recently. T...

Re: Ebola All Over The Place

At my hospital I believe the chances are high that if someone shows up to the ER with ebola they could easily be placed on a floor without getting diagnosed with ebola. The health care team probably won't know anything about it until the next shift or the next day. It has happened before with TB and...

Re: Shotguns - The most overrated weapon for zombies

Range trip planned for Sunday. Doing the postal match for sure. Will pattern #4 and #00 out of both the Remington (20" cylinder bore) and Mossberg 500 (18" cylinder bore and a longer barrel with adjustable choke). I think the pendulum setup might be a bit ambitious; I think we'll do the coconuts ro...

Hooded kattar or a 19th century naval cutlass. Some bite proof, crush proof protection for the off hand would be nice too.

Re: Shotguns - The most overrated weapon for zombies

Get a 2x4 about 8ft long and another piece about a 1ft long. Screw the small piece to the top of the long piece so it makes an L. Bury 1ft of the 8ft piece so it stays upright and hangs slightly forward. Get a piece of cord so it will tie to the small piece and attach to the coconut with 3ft of cord...

Re: Ammunition stockpiling: questions re: quality and quant

What quality of ammunition do you stockpile? And in what quantity? I figured most people stocked piles of whatever crap ammo they could get their hands on cheaply for range work and general blastin' purposes, then had a secondary stock of SHTF ammo (i.e., higher cost, higher quality, higher perform...

Re: The History of Some of My Ammo Selection Mistakes

My first gun was a Glock 23. Pretty much the first gun I ever shot. Took me a few range trips to figure out why my first round would be dead on and my subsequent rounds would be way low. Should have gone with a 9. Got pretty good at controlling handgun recoil though. First rifle was a 7mm08. Gunshop...

So I got this itch to build a 1st tier battle belt.
