Re: looking for a reasonably priced ccw, have a few needs/des

Just to end this thread on a note.

I went ahead and purchased a new XDS 3.3 9mm today. As well as a XD mod 2 service (since I didn't buy an emp lol, 2/1). I put in some range time, I'll have a write up and some pics in a follow up thread.

Re: looking for a reasonably priced ccw, have a few needs/des

I'd like to start by pointing out that, when I bought my first pistol, I had just enough experience with the M9 to know that I fucking hated it . My buddies had 1911's, so I shot them a bit, and liked it. I bought a few of my own, shot the crap out of them, and was very happy. I tried someone's G17...

Re: looking for a reasonably priced ccw, have a few needs/des

Like I said. I'm open to ideas but would rather buy a 1911 again. I'm familiar with the CZ pistols, we carried them when I worked at the LGS, solid product. I never knew that citadel, RIA and Springfield where made on the same blanks, is that correct? I have not handled an armscore or RIA in a while...

Re: looking for a reasonably priced ccw, have a few needs/des

Caliber should be .45acp for practicality and further cost effectiveness, unless I can be steered in a new direction . That said, get a 9mm. Ammo is half the price, modern top shelf 9 is just as effective for self defense, you get more rounds on board and faster follow up shots. These bits are impo...

looking for a reasonably priced ccw,have a few needs/desires

Hi all, Long time no see friends! Been busy at the bike shop and tons of riding. The time has finally come. I'm fairly tired of carrying a full size 1911, nothing bad about it other than I'm 5'7 and weigh 130lbs lol. For winter its alright but summer is a nightmare lol. Ive narrowed my search down c...

Re: Planning an SBR ak, want input on supressors please

AK's are not very fun suppressed IMO. Now, since you're getting the barrel chopped, send it to someone who will cut 1/2x28 threads concentric with the bore not the OD of the barrel. That will solve one of the larger issues with mounting. There are other ways too but since you're chopping anyway, do...

Re: Teach me on - 17 HMR

I bought my 17hmr bolt action savage about 5 years back with the hope that this round would become popular in the future. I have nothing but good things to say about the round and the rifle. The rifle is a Savage, came with a reasonable scope and a good wood thumbhole stock and two magazines. Mags a...

Planning an SBR ak, want input on supressors please

Hey all, been a little while, been doing lots of lurking. In the the beginning stages of planning my move back to the greatest state in the nation from the worst state in the nation, my job here is done. As a reward for myself I have set aside some money to complete a very long overdue SBR project. ...

Check out www.worldwarsupply.com Awesome period correct slings. I got an M1 sling for my M1A scout, it might be stamped 1942 but it looks awesome and smells fantastic. At the price they are offering them you could get a few and not feel terrible about the whole thing lol. Just get a traditional slin...

Re: Remington 700 VS Ruger Gunsite Scout

Nutnfancy had a good review of this rifle, goes over the merits and downsides of the Roger. Either is a good choice. Your budget may be the deciding factor. A good Remington 700 with an optic in a multitude of calibers can be found for less than $700 and in a fairly wide range of barrel lengths. The...

Painting an M1a Scout

Hello again all. I have a few questions about painting an M1a scout. I plan on doing a desert tan single coat job on my scout and I wanted to know about the possibility of painting the op rod. I plan on stripping the rifle down to the barreled action. I will remove the sights, which will remain blac...
