Re: First aid kit for a dog?

Good question. This seems to be a pretty extensive list: http://www.happypreppers.com/Prepping-for-dogs.html Also, ever notice how anything you search for that involves "prepping or survival" is only two clicks away from Amazon dot com or maybe another retailer? Even sites where people offer friend...

Re: A Quiet Place

Saw it last night, definitely thought it was theater worthy. The silence was intense, never been in a movie where the audience was so absolutely quiet throughout the whole thing. Wasn't scary, but definitely worth seeing.

Far Cry 5

It's been a long while since I've picked up a new game, and saw some demo vids for this game the other day and thought it looked like some good old fashioned mindless violence and picked it up. The basic gist of the game is there is a fanatic cult in an fictional Montana valley that's taking over th...

Any worthwile non-tacticool SKS upgrades?

I went on a recent boating trip with my pappy, and as he was handing me his old SKS it tragically slipped through my fingers into the icy depths below, quite tragic. So anyway, assuming I ever work up the courage to take the plunge and find my long lost rifle, I'd like to try to find some mods that ...

Warranties usually cover manufacturers defects for a set period of time. Plenty of stuff lasts well beyond the warranty, just means the manufacturer doesn't assume liability on defective goods past the expiration date.

Re: How Do You Rate These Items in Importance?

Wallet/ID Keys CCW Knife Flashlight (don't always carry one but the phone works as well). My knife sadly is mostly used as a box cutter at work, and would likely fail in a SD situation, but I conceal carry pretty much whenever I leave my house, and would much rather draw it than my knife in a SD sit...

Wife wanted some guns we could both shoot, so I picked up a Ruger 10/22 and a SP101. Which model of SP101? 5719, 3" barrel. http://www.ruger.com/products/sp101/images/5719.jpg Gotcha...I wasn't sure if you got a .22 model to go along with the 10/22. I've been debating between a 4" .22LR SP101 or th...

Re: Before You Get Out of Your Car

Good post. I spent 13 years in the Phoenix area, and getting accosted by panhandlers and homeless asking for money was a regular occurrence. Would have guys in rickety old vans asking for gas money to get home to their ailing so and so, and a week later I'd see them at the same gas station with the ...

Looking for a new daily carry belt for CCW.

Looking for a new carry belt for work, my dad's old duty belt has finally started to fall apart after 17 years of daily use. I work in a high end retail environment, dressing anywhere from jeans & polo to slacks & blazers, and every basic dress belt I've bought starts to fall apart after a few weeks...

Likely they didn't have it in stock despite their inventory/website saying it did. Bad customer service to not explain that, aside from the bad form of showing something in stock that wasn't.

Re: fitness training on a budget

Hindu squats, Hindu push-ups, and crunches. When you're jogging distance, if you need to slow down and catch your breath don't walk, just jog at a walking pace. Back when I had the bee in my bonnet this is pretty much all I did (and cut most sugar out of my diet) and managed to lose 15 lbs in about ...

Re: Cache Gun Thoughts

Slightly off topic, but on the subject of caches, I was hiking in the Superstiton Mountains in AZ a few years back and came upon a cooler kid sticking out of the ground at the crest of a hill, far away from any hiking trail/road. Curiosity got the best of me (in my mind it was either going to be dru...

No fire locally, but it's been smoky in SE Idaho for days from the Montana fires. Took a ride over to Wyoming and the haze is so thick you couldn't see but a few miles, and then sun was blood red a few hours before sundown.

Went on a walk on the woods with the kiddo yesterday. She's probably a little young (2.5 yrs old) but I started pointing out the different types of poop we came across, mostly deer. She couldn't tell what belonged to what, but she was getting pretty good at spotting little piles of droppings up ahea...
