Re: Pickled Eggs & Sausage

In the fridge without canning they'll last for 3-4 for months, from what I'm reading online canned eggs if stored properly will last 6-months to a year. I doubt these will last a month, so I haven't looked into long term storage (don't have a canning set up).

Pickled Eggs & Sausage

I bought a jar of pickled eggs a few weeks ago on a whim, and discovered I love them, and so does my little 3 year old. However the jar of 6 eggs was almost $5, so I thought I'd try it myself on the cheap. I have a co-worker that was interested in trying some, and he hates onions with a passion, so ...

Re: Is the End Nigh?

It's been unfortunate seeing this place dwindle. ZS and one other forum are the only to places online I kept going back to year after year. The other forum is basically dead due to some poor decisions by the admins that drove away a large portion of the population. Back several years ago I'd be chec...

I want to be excited for this game, but Fallout 4 was such a bore, and this doesn't look much different, co-op aside. The giant monster sloth looks interesting, but yeah, I'll take a wait and see.

Re: JeeperCreeper wants to move. Help him.

East Idaho (Idaho Falls, Pocatello) has a couple 50-60k population towns, I know they just announced an expansion in the Pocatello hospital and are hiring around 35 new doctors and a bunch of staff. Plenty of local outdoors stuff to do in the immediate area, and it's a short drive to lots of outlyin...

Bill Gates on the threat of a global pandemic.

Bill Gates discussing the world's lack of preparedness for a global pandemic. Nothing groundbreaking, but an interesting read.

Good question. This seems to be a pretty extensive list: http://www.happypreppers.com/Prepping-for-dogs.html Also, ever notice how anything you search for that involves "prepping or survival" is only two clicks away from Amazon dot com or maybe another retailer? Even sites where people offer friend...

Saw it last night, definitely thought it was theater worthy. The silence was intense, never been in a movie where the audience was so absolutely quiet throughout the whole thing. Wasn't scary, but definitely worth seeing.

Far Cry 5

It's been a long while since I've picked up a new game, and saw some demo vids for this game the other day and thought it looked like some good old fashioned mindless violence and picked it up. The basic gist of the game is there is a fanatic cult in an fictional Montana valley that's taking over th...

Any worthwile non-tacticool SKS upgrades?

I went on a recent boating trip with my pappy, and as he was handing me his old SKS it tragically slipped through my fingers into the icy depths below, quite tragic. So anyway, assuming I ever work up the courage to take the plunge and find my long lost rifle, I'd like to try to find some mods that ...

Warranties usually cover manufacturers defects for a set period of time. Plenty of stuff lasts well beyond the warranty, just means the manufacturer doesn't assume liability on defective goods past the expiration date.

Wallet/ID Keys CCW Knife Flashlight (don't always carry one but the phone works as well). My knife sadly is mostly used as a box cutter at work, and would likely fail in a SD situation, but I conceal carry pretty much whenever I leave my house, and would much rather draw it than my knife in a SD sit...

Wife wanted some guns we could both shoot, so I picked up a Ruger 10/22 and a SP101. Which model of SP101? 5719, 3" barrel. http://www.ruger.com/products/sp101/images/5719.jpg Gotcha...I wasn't sure if you got a .22 model to go along with the 10/22. Re: Before You Get Out of Your Car

Good post. I spent 13 years in the Phoenix area, and getting accosted by panhandlers and homeless asking for money was a regular occurrence. Would have guys in rickety old vans asking for gas money to get home to their ailing so and so, and a week later I'd see them at the same gas station with the ...

Looking for a new carry belt for work, my dad's old duty belt has finally started to fall apart after 17 years of daily use. Likely they didn't have it in stock despite their inventory/website saying it did. Bad customer service to not explain that, aside from the bad form of showing something in stock that wasn't.

Re: fitness training on a budget

Hindu squats, Hindu push-ups, and crunches. When you're jogging distance, if you need to slow down and catch your breath don't walk, just jog at a walking pace. Back when I had the bee in my bonnet this is pretty much all I did (and cut most sugar out of my diet) and managed to lose 15 lbs in about ...
