Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

This latest Detroit fiasco is a lesson for us all - Take it while you can, for tomorrow may not pay... Seems like all the stuff I learned as a kid about saving for a rainy day may not be true, OR more importantly is true, but should be qualified as to how to do it. (meaning rely upon yourself, and s...

Re: Beretta Bobcat Buy or No Buy

I just got a barely (if ever) used Bobcat 21A in .22 - jammed with the first five rounds of Winchester super-X, but 100 flawless rounds of CCI Mini Mag - LOVE IT ! nice little back up gun in a (used to be) common caliber, plus the trigger on this one is magnificent ! I can put 8 rounds in a group th...

Re: Recommend me a SHTF handgun from this list

My experience with the SIG's is small, but I didn't care for them - they didn't fit me well, and at the time I didn't care for the double/single trigger. Most everybody I know who has them loves them, so if it fits you and works, run with it. As for lasers, the only gun I have one on is my Kel-Tec P...

Re: 9mm vs. .40 S&W, same platform--go.

I have always shot the 9mm better, like others have said, I find the .40 snappy. I can shoot the 9mm well and I love my full size 1911 .45's. So for me, I would rather have the 9 than .40 - just my 2 cents.

Re: 25K Rounds and Dropping

I've stopped shooting my .22's for fun. I switched to my old Crossman .177 pump with the crappy trigger to make focus on my skills. When I was a kid, we had to make one of those cardboard tubes of BB's last all week (if not longer!) we'd trap 'em and re-shoot them as long as we could find them. That...
.22LR is fucking GONE in my AO. Have not seen any since January.
None in Pennsylvania either. I may have to stock up on pellets and BB's as well. Re: New Ammo Price Watch

I stopped by my "local" Gander Mountain (outdoors shop) on my way to work yesterday in search of some .22's - there was a crowd of 15-20 people just milling around the center gun case, when an employee came out and asked people who were waiting ammo to raise their hands - everybody raised their hand...

Re: My first rifle...

Gotta say 10/22 as well. It was my first non BB rifle twenty years ago, and now that I have bigger and more expensive guns, it seems to be the one I use the most. I've just started playing with AR-15's, and they are really cool, but expensive . Plus you can buy 10,000 rounds of .22 for the same pric...

Re: Anyone Planning to GET BACK HOME?

My mindset is a GHB, Get home, and stay there under the covers! I am exceedingly lucky that I only work 5 miles away could get there in 2 hours by foot (3-4) if conditions are bad, 1/2 a day if conditions are extreme, and 24 hours give or take if I'm E and E. My point is, I am lucky that I live close...

But I just got a vargo titanium wood stove (just like was posted above),a brunton solar charger, and a 5.56 upper for my AR build. Looking at buying more lower receivers (or trading for them) at the local gun show this weekend, wish me luck!

I have commented on the problem the general pubic would have trying to enter the wilderness and feeding there families if the shit hit before but I'll say it again. The over crowded woods would not decimate the wildlife, think, they have no idea what they are doing and most of the game would " disa...

I ordered one of the pathfinder series 8" rifled 12 ga to .22lr adapter from gunadapters.com . It arrived Thursday. I had a chance to shoot it Friday night. I put about 50 rounds through it. I still need some more range time, but I'm pretty happy with it at this point. Paul, That seems like a prett...

Seems that, like many other things in finance, the rumors start a self-fufilling prophecy. I bet that if I lived in Greece, I'd transfer a large portion of my money out to some other Euro country - especially since there is no exchange rate! I'd also be buying PM's just to have something on hand... Cb
