Re: Fiery ball in sky may kick our asses

This subject is getting a little more press - I just got this from NASA http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2009/21jan_severespaceweather.htm?list744812" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Basically it says the east coast grid and pacific northwest grids are toast - they do say that if we ...

Re: I am considering a Taurus Model 94 .22, am I crazy?

HI, I bought a brand new stainless 5" 94 to keep in my pack - DON'T - JUST DON'T -. The cylinder seizes about every 15th shot and will not move. The rear adjustable sight fell off (found it - lucky me...) and the trigger pull is tremendously heavy (I thought it would ease up after shooting it a bunc...

Re: Thouhgts on a subaru???

If you are looking for a daily driver that can go on unpaved roads and fire trails, dirt driveways, and such, then the Subaru (forester or outback) is absolutely the best car ever made. I have an '06 forester that routinely carries kayaks on top (the kayak racks held the 16' pressure treated lumber w...

Re: Would it be complete blasphemy for me to...?

I have that very same rifle - absolutely love it ! I too like you was looking for a lever action and found this same one used in like new condition for $300 about 3 years ago - it will shoot 2 liter pop bottle out to about 200 yards with the iron sights ( ok, I stretched that a little - but easily o...

Re: Bug Out Gear Deals (Post 'em when you find 'em)

Dick's sporting goods had the Doug Ritter (Adventure Medical) pocket survival pack on clearance at my local store for $19.00 - good price for a great little basic survival kit (much like a B.O.A.T -altoids tin...) too bad for me they only had one left :(

Re: A bit of advice on preparing for pharmicy needs

Welcome reddawn! The problem with most prescriptions is federal law will not allow doctors to prescribe multiple months of certain drugs. I do not know if this true with meds you need, but I cannot buy more than one Epi-Pen at a time. I've tried for extended backpacking trips. The FedGov is afraid ...

Re: A bit of advice on preparing for pharmicy needs

Hi Reddawn, I would talk to the M.D. about writing another emergency Rx for a 90 day supply (or more) - as long as the medication is not abusable* most doctors wouldn't have a problem doing this (explain that Homeland Security actually recommends it, and you just want to be prepared...) - unfortunat...

Hello and thanks for having me!

Hello Zombie squad! Like a mostly starved shambler, I've been lurking aroung this board for about 6 months - sorry I haven't joined before now... I've learned all sorts of things and now carry a flashlight, duct tape and my leatherman EVERY time I leave the house. I am a pharmacist working for a maj...
