Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...
If you live in a ban state you probably can't add much in the way of CRAPCO accessories anyway. As it sits in its original form, the SKS is the best choice for arming illiterate peasant conscripts overnight. Start adding plastic to it and not only does it get real ugly, it loses the simplicity and r...

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...
The 59/66 is certainly an interesting piece of history what with the NATO grenade launcher on a Warsaw Pact weapon. You can even get a tennis ball or golf ball launcher for it. I've seen some really cool trench art, as well has Beverly Hills 90210 stickers, on the stocks. It is not, in my opinion a ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm
Dang. I just checked Gun Broker and there's one listing for an SKS-D with a high bid of $995 right now. If that SKS-D I saw in Houston three years was going for only 450, I missed out on a heck of a deal then. :gonk: I got mine in probably '06. It was considerably less than $450. Part of an estate ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm
If you can find ten SKS rifles for $1000 let me know, heck $2500. Unfortunately without my time machine we're both out of luck. For decades the SKS was a $100 gun. I know I'm getting old and I've been around here forever, but when I first joined ZS, dealer cost on a Yugo 59/66 was $88. But hey, tha...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm
Ok, which one of y'all bought the crate of SKS's from AIM Surplus ? https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F3SKSYCRATE10&name=CRATE+OF+10+Yugoslavian+Model+59%2f66+7.62x39+SKS+Rifles+Cons.+Serial+Numbers&groupid=5392 10 rifles for $5950! That's a hell of a deal on $1,000 worth of rifles.

Re: Tunnel Rat Poll
If I remember correctly, guys who got tunnel rat duty were usually pretty small framed and skinny. Not guys who are over 6 feet tall and over 250 pounds. I'd have likely been stuck lugging an M60 around (or one of those Stoner 63's if I was lucky). Yes, and at least according to my history professo...

I'll take the .22. It'll make the smallest hole in my foot. Ooops,I had an accident, looks like I need to go home. I'll need a good book while I recover. Re: The $100 870
Pro Ported. My old Mossberg was Pro Ported and it helped quite a bit with follow-up shots. Not pro-ported, Vang Comp, or at least a very good copy.Same idea, different execution. The Vang Comp System also includes lengthening the forcing cone and back boring the barrel to tighten shot patterns but ...

Re: The $100 870
So a little bit of hunting around and I found a take off stock set for $10 plus shipping. A little haggle back and forth and I got a 20" barrel to go with it. Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm
I'm also trying to remember what the name of some of the different auction sites are. Gun broker has a reloading area but its expensive. I know there are others but I'm having a massive brain fart. Auction Arms is the other big auction site. They changed to Gunauction.com a while back. These guys m...

Re: anybody know why Southern Ohio Guns has no guns for sale?
A lot of small brick and mortar guys hate Bud's because it kills their profits. When I was a counter commando we typically made about $100 over dealer price on any gun except Hi-points and Yugo SKS's when they were dirt cheap. Along comes Buds and a few kitchen table dealers and the profit goes down...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series
These trailers have got me on edge! Talking zombies! If only no one had thought of that! This series is suffering a slower, more painful and worthless death than even Coral. I guess it speaks volumes that I'll probably DVR it and watch it writhe later.

I can't remember now where I saw a discussion on that Sony before ( I'm pretty sure it was that one) might have been on here years ago. It was really popular with prisoners for its size and durability. I'll do some google-fu later when I'm on my computer

Don't really know what I want out of it either. There were several up for grabs and it turned into kind of a feeding frenzy. At the price I paid there is almost nothing I can do to it to make it worth less money. Spray on bedliner is another option for the stock

Re: The $100 870
The stock is a speed-feed synthetic. It's on decent shape, it'll look Krylon new when I'm done. The barrel is 24".If I go the WESCOG route, I won't re-thread it. I already have a Winchester with a long Winchoke barrel, an 18" barrel with rifle sights and a rifled slug barrel so there isn't anything ...

The $100 870
Picked this up off another board. Shipping and transfer bring it to right at a buck fifty. It's solid, just the orange furniture and a nice "patina". Even threaded for chokes. I'm thinking Krylon and a hacksaw. What does ZS think? Give me your recommendations so I can ignore them and fuck up perfect...

Re: Glock barrels question.
I need a conversion barrel for my Glock 32 in .357 SIG. Lone Wolf and Alpha Wolf (same company) make two barrels. One is SS and one is: Certified, stress relieved 416 stainless steel Button rifled, three stage honed bore Industry recognized SBN premium coating (SBN is Salt Bath Nitride, similar to ...

Re: Glock barrels question.
Yeah but bare stainless looks sexy on a black Glock.... Sexy doesn't last as well and this is a PAW gun anyway. I've never had a problem with either stainless or nitride. But, nitride exposes the stainless after a couple range trips so it will need a light oil regardless This isn't just coloring, i...
