Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

The obvious choice is the Beretta CX4 Storm, but that will be tough to fit into $500. If your plan is to notch your CZ mags then I think you can also look at anything that take mags for Hi-powers, Sig 226, I believe SW 59 series and at least a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

Well that sucks. I was just starting to see Hellfire missiles on the shelves at Walmart again. They're probably going to go back to a three missile a day limit.

Escape & Survival Module The Escape & Survival Module was developed for an elite US military unit, but it also can be a lifesaving device for those who travel in harm’s way or in dangerous regions. This kit provides effective tools to enable escape from captivity and subsequent survival. It's all c...

Re: Looking for something higher quality but similar to the Condor Rapid Assualt

I would start with Eagle or Tactical Tailor. See if they meet your needs close enough. If not, we can look around a bit more. I like some of TT stuff but its not what im looking for. Never heard of Eagle ,couldnt find much of their stuff either. I will keep looking into them though, thanks for the ...

Sales posts are really supposed to here https://www.zombiehunters.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=48 but Bartertown has kind of turned into ghost town since it was restricted to paying members. There was just too much drama and dirty dealings for the mods to put with. Well, the main reason it's currently...

http://unammo.com/ Man I'm seeing some really bad ideas for the first time on that site. I gotta get out more. Soda can launcher in an AR Upper. Great for sending cold drinks or TShirts to people in the stands of the sports area. Not only might the impact kill someone, http://www.unammo.com/Images/...

First I'd like to say thanks to everyone who posted on this topic. It helped fill in the gaps, and there were a lot of things I never considered. Second, I was going through what my wife call the "closet of doom" when she pointed out my ever growing collection of backpacks. So I reminded her there ...

Re: Apartment heating

You'd have to ask Rinnai why they designed it that way. It's electronic ignition and I'm assuming the lack of a pilot light has something to do with safety. As to hacking in a battery powered fan, I don't think the landlord would be too happy about my doing that. Is it direct wired? If not a batter...

Re: Apartment heating

One thing not mentioned here is the fuel stability issue. A backup prep may not be needed for years. In the case of propane the fuel remains stable and usable indefinately. Kerosene especially used for heater fuel does have long life but propane wins the longevity contest. It's also worth noting th...

Re: Apartment heating

Kerosene does not burn clean like propane. Stink, soot and possibly CO. Really have to take them outside to light up and shut down. I have and use both options. Kerosene isn't as cheap as it used to be. But for steady even heat over a long period of time in a larger area, it's my choice. Definitely...

Re: Worst SHTF Handgun

I just had a thought about this. Imagine a town of people who for whatever reason all bought 500 S&W revolvers and all learning to shoot them on the day of the Zed apocalypse. That might be the most dangerous town in the world with bullets flying through houses and revolvers sailing out of hands. h...

I'll have to find a copy of the original and watch it again, it's been a very long time since I've seen. I do really like Marcellus Wallace Vs. The Evil Dead though.

Re: SHTF and you can only have one gun

Well, to be honest, I hate the 9x19mm and the jam prone AR15/M16 (the U.S. military claims to have fixed the jam issues with every iteration, yet at gen 4 it still is a jam prone rifle/carbine platform, and the M855.SS109 rounds punch a narrow, little, thru and thru .22 caliber hole that requires m...

Man, that's a thinker. I guess an high quality AKM with a folding stock, LED tac light and laser sight combo if the scenario is full on WROL, a Glock 21 with laser and light combo on the accessory rails if there is still a military/National Guard presence. And plenty of high capacity mags for both....

Re: Considering buying an SKS, but...

Has anyone with a Yugo had issues with the gas cutoff switch? Or is that a non-issue as long as everything is kept clean? In '05ish when they were coming in by the crate for $89 wholesale I worked in a gun shop. We sold them hand over fist. Out of all the one we sold there were maybe 3 or 4 that wo...

Saw this on Imgur just now: http://i.imgur.com/OrMO1qrl.jpg That certainly is cool, and if the goal is to hide your firearm ownership from the casual observer or just because it looks badass, it will work. But, I've always questioned the value of taking a high value, often stolen item and disguisin...

I wonder how that little chopped grip would handle full power .357 magnum loads.

Either of these snubbies look good I wouldn't feed either of those a steady diet of +p or magnum loads. If you're set on a snub, and you plan to hang onto it, just get a J-frame smith. If you want bigger and badder hold out for the right price on a GP-100 or look into a Security Six or Service Six ...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I actually kind of miss the RIA 1911 I used to have. I traded it to a friend for a Ruger P89 and my friend no longer has the gun. So trading the P89 for the 1911 isn't an option anymore. I heard RIA is a solid firearm. What are your experiences? That's one of those guns I wish I'd gotten when they ...
