Re: Inexpensive Backpacking Tent?

Every time we camp in Texas there is a burn ban, no campfires. And it's fairly cool in the winter. I think the tuna can fuel trick would be exempt though, since it is canned fuel. I had a eureka two person tent I got in 2000 and used until are family grew. I gave it to a friend who is still using it...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

TB has given us a great gift. Starting in May 2013, he has made over 100 days with story entries. The greatest intensity was at the start, with 17 days of stories in the first month. June had seventeen story days, July eight. The rest of 2013 averaged just under 3 story days per month. 2014 was ble...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

I have been rereading old chapters while hoping for new words from you, TB. I had a fortune cookie last week that said I would soon be showered with good fortune. It has been raining here a lot. However, the good fortune I am wishing for is a new chapter!

Re: A Resonably Good Inflatable Canoe?

Our crew got an inflatable canoe, the Sevylor Colorado about 12 years ago. We take it car camping and for trips on local rivers and lakes. It's great not to have to tie an air resistor to your car roof for 5,000 miles. As our family grew we got a second one maybe 7 years ago, same model. 2014 same t...

Re: Well I have to replace the Kahr

I have, and pocket carried for years, a P-64. I picked up a Shield .40 last year and it is almost identical in carry weight and size, I don't notice a difference. Even though my Shield is of a much bigger caliber than the P-64's 9mm Makarov, it is much more fun to shoot and does not punish my hand l...

I really appreciated the data point! It's no Rock River, Noveske, insert your dream AR here, but I think Radical makes an OK gun and Rob Ski's video, really does show that. Especially for $499, which is what AIM is still selling them for today.

Re: $499.95 Radical Firearms AR 5.56 or 7.62x39 Anygood?

Thanks for that video link ksbsnowowl! I don't have any target to post but my Radical 5.56 has been functioning fine. I've had it almost a year and have 1800 rounds or so thru it with just perfect performance. Rob Ski's torture test videos are amazing. He did switch out the trigger group and put on ...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

Thank you for the great gift of these two new chapters TB! They give us a lot of background on Lucas; especially on why he is unswerving in his duty to find Lux. The horse rider is an interesting character. Lucas's actions showed her that he was not intent on hurting her and just wanted to be on his...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

I love this story. It is not only the best zombie novel(s) ever, it is the best novel in the entire post-apocalyptic field. TB has created a new world in horrifyingly wonderful detail. We care about this story because we care about the characters. He has made them deep, real, troubled, battered yet ...

If you bought a Mosin nagant rifle a few years ago and still have it, it may have been a great investment. They are worth a lot more than what you probably paid for it.

Re: Any incipient panic buying in your AO?

Things are the same in central Indiana, lots of everything except .22lr, which has never come back to pre-original panic status. I see it at some places at sometimes but always expensive. Other ammo prices are ok. I think it will be months before we see any changes, based on past panic patterns. Oh,...
