Re: Your main folder/EDC?

Carried a CRKT M16 for years, loved it, it was part of my hand, until I lost it somewhere the other day. The clip was weak. I looked everywhere, retraced all my steps, someone must have seen it and picked it up. They don't make this particular one anymore, so I'll have to see what I can do to replac...

I _was_ going to say, "post some pix, can't judge without pix", but, please, no more pix. Those women are too too scary, ain't gonna sleep well tonight.

I want to see what the OP was talking about. Good looking girls, not 'zombie'ish at all.

Myself, I would leave out the case of beer, in the wooden box. Although I'm sure the box keeps it colder. Damn, actually, what am I talking about. It's BEER! It works as food, in place of water, as drugs to make you feel better, it does it all. Beer, beer, the magical fruit. Hmm, no, that's not righ...

Re: Buck 110: are the new ones good?

Got mine for my 16th birthday, and it stays sharp as a razor. Used it once to clean 3 deer, and trim the callouses off my dad's feet, and it still shaved the hair off your arm. I just had my 53d birthday, and it still locks up as tight as the day I got it. A little verdigris on the brass, but other ...

Hmm, sorry, but I don't get it. Possession of what? We could have had a better clue as to what they were trying to kill each other over. It looked like a goth container of Dungeon & Dragon cards to me.

And, after he knocked her block off, why would he leave her backpack and weapon behind?

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Exercised my leg to the point of pain and exhaustion. Let me back up. Last leap day, I was walking down the sidewalk, not too far from my house, and rolled my foot on something or other, wasn't looking down, (in condition 'duh'), and have no idea what I might have stepped on. Dislocated my foot, and...

Purchases last week: 5.11 Rush 24 pack for GHB/BOB. (one or the other, haven't decided yet. Maybe I'll get a Rush 12 for a GHB) SOG Seal Pup. (nice knife, don't care for the sheath) 3 100' hanks of paracord. (black, orange, and pink) Pelican 1040 box. (Orange colored. It will protect my cell phone, ...

When I was a kid I saw a Western in which the goodguy gets ambushed by the badguys when he's target practicing. They waited till his gun was empty before riding out from concealment. Have no clue what it was called or even what the rest of the movie was about, but that scene made an impression on m...

Re: What makes a good compass?

Tritium is a MUST IMHO on any primary/serious compass. I don't really plan on needing to do night landnav under light discipline conditions. Honestly, I dont even need to do landnav with a sighting compass. Tritium has never been one of my requirements. I've got several silvas and Suuntos that are ...

Re: Stranger asking about my kids......

This is an interesting read. I work for my County Health Dept, so I wind up having to walk up to parent's houses asking to speak with their kids [13+] quite often. Technically, I'm not supposed to say where I'm from nor to show my badge, as I'm talking to the kid about their recent STD diagnosis an...

Re: Carrying with the safety off

I'd carry with the safety off - perfectly ok with a DA pistol - but practice the draw stroke, and dry firing, with the safety on so you still incorporate that safety disengage as part of your draw stroke. Because even though you carry safety off, Murphy will make sure that the one time in your life...

Re: I just finished reading Cujo

I'm going to make an assumption here that everyone is familiar to a degree with the book or the movie. It's about a mom with her 3 year old. They go to the neighbors house who lives out in the boondocks and is trapped in their car by a rabid dog. It made me think what I would do in a situation like...

I actually lost my pen light at work a week or so back, and honestly I still miss it. That and the leatherman are worth their weight in gold. I had a Surefire G2 LED light inside a hard plastic clip case, attached to my briefcase (Dillon) for several years, used it all the time at work. Then, a few...

Re: Anybody ever vacuum seal toilet paper to crush it down?

It is amazing the fascination American's have with toilet paper. Most of the world does not use it. I would suggest looking at the alternatives. Last time I looked, 'most' of the world was pretty retched. All the parts of the world I've ever wanted to visit used TP. The parts that didn't I was more...
