Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

Bought a Black Diamond Storm headlamp. 160 lumens on full power. 4 on lowest. Has one super bright LED, two on sides for proximity use, and two red leds for keeping your night vision. Uses 4 AAA. Very nice light. http://demandware.edgesuite.net/sits_pod21/dw/image/v2/AAKN_PRD/on/demandware.static/Si...

Re: Tapatalk is back

Thanks so very much. Most of the time I have to read the forum is when I am driving to and from work, sitting at stop lights. Now that Tapatalk is back, my commute is much less painful!

Re: The Lottery - a few questions from the author

Almost all great stories move around in time and viewpoint. Perhaps your proofreader just doesn't care for this kind of story. But we do!

Re: The Lottery -- more MOAR up. 7/16

If you look at all my threads, I put the date of the latest new material. We tried the dual thread thing - didn't work because folks will posted posted comments to the main thread. Thanks for reading along. Oh yeah, great idea! Now I can tell if an update is real, or just comments. Great story.

Re: The Lottery -- more MOAR up. 7/16

We should do what Jerry D. Young does on his site, I think it is, where you have a thread for the story, and a thread for comments on the story. That way you don't get all excited when you see a new post, thinking the story has been updated, and instead it is just a comment or someone asking for mor...

I have that other problem. When I go to call my dog, I find myself running through the names of all the other dogs I have ever had.

Re: Chainsaws and ethanol

We've always used regular gas from the cheapest pumps (E10?) in our lawnmower, and it works fine, for years now. But I've always doped the gas can with Pri-G or Stabil. Perhaps that makes a difference. I just got a new Poulan chain saw, and the manual says not to use gas with any ethanol in it. Have...

What do you all think about that? Do you disagree? Think you know anyone who is a prepper and a good dude who might end up on the dark side in your opinion when the chips are down, and have been down for a while? -Das I think that if times get bad enough, anyone will turn marauder to feed their chi...

Re: DUmbest thing HOA neighbors complain about

The problem is, you can buy a home in a non-HOA area, and other homeowners can create an HOA for the area without your consent, and you'll either have to join or leave. It's BS. How would that be possible? Without an HOA being extant when I bought my property, how could anyone possibly impose one a...

Re: Official ZSARC Membership Sign Up

I am taking my Tech exam this week. Was hoping to find an active HAM group with ZS. Hope this turns around, have so much to learn about HAM. License probably will be delayed due to govt shutdown at the FCC. Positively will be delayed. I got a 100% on my tech test Oct 2nd, but nothing will be proces...

Just got a Maxpedition Neatfreak, and a Duluth Packs Serengeti leather mini haversack. Now I can carry a little more stuff in an easy to position bag, rather than having to bury it in my BOB.

Now you should do a followup about the starving man with the shotgun..... I'm sure it would be as great as Buddy's story and Nala's story. And I'm very glad that Buddy's story ended on a happy note.

Hmm, I have a small metal safebox with my Glock 21 and a spare magazine in it. That might work ok.
