Re: "The Silent Moors" aka "The two" aka...

I like the story so far, but I do have one minor point to bring up. You write that the protagonists are all using L85's, which is the current issue British rifle, which is great and makes sense, but the L85 shoots the .223 round instead of the .308. The older L1's fired the .308 round, but I think t...

Re: My Latest Book, Now Out in Paperback

I just bought and read the paperback, and I have to say that I loved it. I started laughing pretty damn loudly as soon as callsign "Lizard 45" was introduced, and this caused me some very odd looks at the Barnes and Noble coffee place I was in, but it was so worth it. Thanks, and keep up the great w...

Re: Mom's Journal of the Zombie Years

You know, up until now, I haven't really been able to follow this story as much as it obviously deserves. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to have to go back to page 1, and try to catch up... This leads to two points: 1. 65 Pages!! Awesome! The updates are great, the plot keeps coming, and it just mak...

Re: Group Story Write - "3 Days After"

Some may think that they can give up, just due to their awesome co-op zombie fiction story. And some think that 60- odd pages of zombie journals allows them to forget posting in such an awesome thread. And SOME think that living in the states is a damn good excuse for not posting... All of these opt...

Re: Roadside repairs

If it's been raining, and you have to change a tire on the side of the road, oftentimes your jack will sink into the earth instead of lifting your vehicle. A good way to fix it to place the jack on a couple of about foot square 2 x 8s. In a pinch, bricks also work pretty well. I know it seems pretty...

Re: strangest thing you have ever seen

I think that the strangest thing that I've ever seen was an emu just wandering through my backyard in rural CT. I was looking out through my kitchen window, and this extremely large emu was just wandering through my back yard. Since I was a sophomore in high school at the time, my conversation with ...

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT chew spearmint gum if you work in a Nuclear Power Plant. Well, at least if you work at the plant that I did... At Millstone Nuclear Power Plant, the CO_2 Fire Suppression Systems announce their operation with a spearmint smell in the air. At the best, your spearmint gum will ...

There is something there, but the actual journal is located at: http://thedeadcanwalk.blogspot.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Going to this site means that there's no other stuff along with the story.

No, sir, Moodus is a Village in the town of East Haddam. As for avoiding Moodus, your class trip was most likely to Sunrise Resort in Moodus, a place I worked at for ONE day. it's better to avoid that as much as possible, so you sir get all of the bonus points, which you can redeem as Icelandic Kron...

Yeah, I've learned about checking all that the hard way I guess. Any pain went away after about three hours, and the only aftereffects that I still have are that my mouth still is alternately numb and tingly. Kinda like the aftereffects of Novacain, but I can still talk and not drool. I guess I got ...

So, yeah, as the name of the thread implies, I have just been stung by a scorpion. As I'm from the Northeast, and not used to Arizona wildlife, this has been something of a different experience for me, and I thought I'd share what I've learned so far. 1. A scorpion sting from an Arizona scorpion wil...
