Re: Paracord Survival Bracelet

Here's a couple of variations using the 'cross knot'(ABoK#808) for a paracord bracelet and watchband. The knot has a different look on each side, so you choose which side you want facing out when you tie it... http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b90/Stormdrane/More%20images/60c4a67d.jpg http://i17.pho...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

My 8mo old nephew sporting his brand new paracord bracelet/teething ring. Just curious, but did yo use any other hardwear for the bracelet? The reason I ask is I've thought the samething for my daughter, but wasn't sure of how safe it would be with a clasp. I'd planned on a knot and loop closure ve...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

The previous paracord hatband , that I posted, started off as a long two bight turks head knot, but I only did that knot halfway, before coiling the rest of the cord around the hat, underneath the crossings. This one is a two bight turks head knot, in an open pattern with more crossings showing, don...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

A longer 4 bight turks head knot(109 leads 4 bights) lanyard, made with 1.4mm black and tan cord, over black paracord. Working the 60+ feet of 1.4mm cord was a very time consuming endeavor. I used a rifle cleaning rod(30" length) as a mandrel to tie the knot around and tightened down to a ...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Thanks! Those are good. What I meant to ask was about four strand braiding as well. That is what I am having a dickens of a time trying to do. The cobra knots I have been doing for a while and they have really come out good. I even did a rifle sling from para cord! I mispoke myself, but tis OK. I t...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Nice job! Looks great. I need to find some more buckles, on the small side. I have some small diameter cord that makes really nice looking bracelets. Stormdrane. do you have a tutorial on square braiding? I am having a devil of a time trying to do this and can't get it right. If you mean the square...

how many feet did that bracelet come out to? i'm trying to maximize length without making my bracelet too bulky.
The snake belly bar used about 9 feet of paracord(4.5 feet of each color), for a 9.25" finished bracelet length, to comfortably fit a 8.5" wrist.

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Made it! :D Nice work, Joe! :D Here's a few recent projects I've made: paracord can koozies and pouches that are woven and half hitched. And a link to a tutorial I made. The small pouch can serve to hold slingshot ammo. For a larger version, just use more cord and tie around a 1 quart Nalgene or st...

Re: Paracord Survival Bracelet

I'm having difficulty conceptualizing the tying of the 2 color bracelet. I kind of get the one strand one (going to try 2 different styles tonight) but when I try to understand how the two color thing works my mind just doesn't want to work. Can anyone offer an explanation how to start out the two ...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Stormdrane, on your vertical half hitching project, how did you get the stitching to to be so uniform? Are the hitches somewhat loose or are they really tight? I have tried both ways and my projects get untied because they are so LAME!!!! Great blog by the way. I took your Key Ring Dream Catcher an...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

I've seen that project done a lot with the boonie hats (and of course variations of), and keep wondering if that's just a way to carry and store paracord, or if it provides a better way to hold foliage in the branch loops, which would've made more sense to me. If you add enough paracord, it can be ...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

I've seen other boonie hats with the crossing effect of paracord worked around the branch loops, but I started this one off intending to do a two bight turks head knot. After several times of tying/untying and being unsatisfied, I settled with the first couple of spiraling passes, in opposite direct...

Re: Paracord Survival Bracelet

'Dragon's Tongue' paracord bracelet. I followed JD of TIAT's YouTube video tutorial for the tying method, but used a single 12 foot strand of paracord with a 5/8" curved side release buckle for the 9.5" long finished bracelet. I preferred leaving the woven cord bunched up, with the wider effect, ins...

It's simple half hitching/needle hitching usually found tied over bottles, but I start with a separate cinch cord with cord lock to make it removable from the bottle.

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Here's a half hitched aluminum water bottle sleeve, tied the same way I did the paracord pouch/can koozie, but spaced the hitches further apart. I used about 30 feet of paracord to cover the 750ml bottle and another foot or so for the cinch cord with cord lock. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b90/...
