I've asked my uncle about this in the past(he's been a pharmacist for 30+years). He said most medications are fine past their expiration date if kept in a cool/dry location. Some medicines can break down over time and simply become ineffective. He didn't say anything about them being toxic, never he...
As a hobby I've made paracord lanyards, fobs, keychains, and bracelets. I haven't learned how to make a neck lanyard yet though. My friend Jeff at Widgnwhackers Custom Lanyards has definately got it down though. I got a few of his ID badge lanyards from him and they're very well made. I know there a...
I picked up a couple of the Super Sporks from County Comm. I have a stainless spork and a titanium one and both are fine, but the polycarbonate sporks are cool since they won't scratch teflon or titanium cookware.

I have a mini compass clipped...
I've tried the cheapo ebay versions and they don't hold a candle to the Nightstar brand. I have the Nightstar CS and it blows away the other versions of a shake light. Shake for a couple of minutes and you get about 20 minutes of useable light. Target has started carrying them now for about $30-$40 ...

I have the new Leatherman Wave, it rocks. I traded my old one for a maxpedition fatboy. I still have an older gerber, solid tool, the new ones feel light and cheap. The Juice Pro by Leatherman is also a nice tool, smaller but great to put in a BoB or glove compartment. Check out BladeForums for more...
