It's simple half hitching/needle hitching usually found tied over bottles, but I start with a separate cinch cord with cord lock to make it removable from the bottle.

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Here's a half hitched aluminum water bottle sleeve, tied the same way I did the paracord pouch/can koozie, but spaced the hitches further apart. I used about 30 feet of paracord to cover the 750ml bottle and another foot or so for the cinch cord with cord lock. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b90/...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Wow, lets keep this going, I'm drooling to get started on something. I love the can lantern/can coozie. Can you, or do you have instructions posted on how to do that one? I didn't notice it when I was grazing through your posts and blog. There's not a tutorial for doing them with paracord, but foll...

Here's a paracord bracelet verison of a Slatt's Rescue Belt. TyingItAllTogether put up a good youtube video of the process and posted more info on the IGKT forums.

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

I made a paracord pouch for my River Rock 3AA LED lantern and it also works as a can koozie. A 2 foot piece of paracord used for the cinch section with cord lock, and I didn't measure the cord, so I'd have to guess something like 30 to 40 feet of paracord used for the single strand for the cow hitch...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

A got a couple of nice black painted bronze snap shackles from MIL-SPEC MONKEY . They cost a little more than the usual variety of attachments that I use with paracord lanyards, but still neat to work with. I imagine the black paint will scratch/wear off fairly easily, but the bronze underneath is d...

Re: Paracord Survival Bracelet

Here's a two-bight turks head paracord bracelet. About 2 ft of cord used for the loop/lanyard knot core/closure, and about 12 ft used for the 3 pass 2 bight 23 lead turks head knot over it. It could be done with a side release buckle and also used as a longer length flexible lanyard. http://i17.phot...

Re: Paracord Survival Bracelet

Indeed, thanks. Any recommendations for a knot tying book? A couple of good ones that I like, are Creative Ropecraft and The Book of Decorative Knots . Most of the knot books that I have and have looked through, don't have much in the way of start to finish projects, like for lanyards. They have kn...

Re: Paracord Survival Bracelet

This one. How do you thread it through the buckles so that everything is on the correct end to start the weave? BTW, I have really enjoyed learning to make these bracelets and have been fascinated by several of the other wrapping projects that I have seen. What book would you recommend to teach kno...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Did you have to gut the cord to make this? My watch band broke , and i tried to make a new one with the para cord, but it was waaaaaay to thick to work. No, I didn't gut the paracord for the watchband. Some watches just don't have enough room between the pins and the body for ungutted cord. You cou...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Two toned noose( coil ) knot lanyard/fob. I just doubled it with two different colors of paracord, trimmed/melted two of the ends, and made a lanyard knot with the other two. Started with 2.5' of each color and just trimmed a few inches of that off when finished. I left the two loops just large enou...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

For a belt loop, I tried integrating a simple cobra stitch/Solomon bar/Portuguese sinnet, with a gutted strand of paracord. Two shorter versions could be done parallel on the sheath for it to be worn horizontally instead... I think I'd still like the option of adding a metal belt clip probably attac...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!

Actually it's mostly just simple weaving(older than dirt type stuff) with four paracord strands(inner strands intact) centered to weave around the 8 ends with one gutted strand(keeping it from being too thick/bulky). Sample photo is with just a short woven length shown as I was checking feet/inch of...

Re: Fun with Paracord! (or) Misadventures with Paracord!
