Re: Glock 19XL

I really like those sights. Was thinking of getting the XS big dots on ours, I've often thought about reshaping a G23 and getting rid of the hump at the bottom of the backstrap.

Re: Reccomend me a Fixed Knife.

Don't laugh, but check out the Condor line of bush knives. I've been really impressed with their Condor Rodan version (after we reshaped the handle) had to slab it and make a couple notches to make it more comfortable. Steel is 1075 Carbon I believe, sharpens easily and doesn't dull quickly. AND bes...

Nice pictures. Love the tent one - yeah, I like tent porn! I'm still trying to convince the g/f for us to use cots instead of a single queen sized air mattress in the tent. We can store 100% more stuff under the cots and get better breezes during the summer, warmer in the winter by being up off the ...

Yep, and I still can't figure out how that family survived as long as they did!!! Treat it as a what NOT to do during a Pandemic IMHO - or - as I have, take some notes on the silly things they did and work out a better plan. The video is also on youtube, saved it so I can show it to some friends who...

Ahh, there's a youtube video by wranglerstar just on how to afix a new handle to a axe. http://www.youtube.com/user/wranglersta ... nmhzAoKs-w While I don't have the pneumatic sander like he has, I've put two new handles axes using very rough sandpaper, a bastard file and mora carving knife.

Re: Michigan/Ohio Line

I'd like to point out that, though we're Southern Michigan chapter, we do cover parts of NW Indiana and NE Ohio. We figure a 200 mile radius is our general area. I'd also like to point out that most of my family went to OSU but I personally live within walking distance of The Big House in Ann Arbor...

Re: ATCustom family's GHB (large photos)

It's a nice basic pack to keep in the vehicle for general emergencies. Your location dictates just how much or how little gear you can get away with. I'd personally add some more of those 8hr chemical heat packs, a fleece or wool blanket or two and some hot chocolate or flavored tea to keep your ins...

How much off roading are you planning on doing? Doing some of the really extreme stuff that 6" lift and 33 or 35" tires are required with detachable sway bar links for better articulation? If not going that extreme and was looking at a weekend get away vehicle why not look at a Full sized F250 or F3...

Re: MaxRite's BOB

Thanks for the submission of your BOB, that's a good kit. It covers the basics and isn't overly loaded. The only things I'd debate about are the radio - looks awefully cumbersome, a better sleep system arrangement - I'm not 100% sure on your fall/winter season coming up but looks kind of light. I pe...

Once again, glad you could make it Jerry.

Re: Cholera Outbreak Hits Haiti, Nearly 200 Dead

This just hits home the need to do your best to have means to make clean water and utilize proper sanitation during a disaster. Even if it's just you and your family and the rest of the neighborhood is crapping on their street gutter - the only one you can depend on is yourself. This also include kn...

Google is your friend. Most of these are soup based I'm afraid.

Hope it helps.

During the colder months and camping I only wear smartwool or these awesome pair of hikers from Cabela's (can't remember the exact name tho).
