For the love of all that's holy, once your DD214 is in hand, get to the county records office and PUT IT ON FILE.

Seems like you had a waste of a haircut yesterday. Too bad. :D

There are places where it says that a person is considered armed with a category 1 dangerous weapon if they have a knife with a blade that's 3" or longer. What I'm not clear on is if that mean I can't carry a knife with a 3 inch blade, or if that only becomes a problem if I do something illegal whi...

I'd like to get one of the folders, but if I understand Illinois knife laws (I don't speak legaleese, so I'm not sure that I do), the blade is too long and I wouldn't be able to use it as an EDC. Remember, Chicago is not all of Illinois, despite what King Richard would like to think. Chicago knife ...

Hai guyz! Wut iz goin on in dis thread? Seriously, though, this knife is PURE killer. I picked up one for me and one for my buddy a couple of months back when I first saw this price. Where do you (civilian) guys plan on using your STOMP bags? All my IFAK's are designed to be put inside another non-medical bag, and I cant think of anything I'd be doing where I just had 20lb of medical supplies on my back, and nothing else. Do you just intend to leave them in your cars? I don't h...

Re: Filled STOMP 2 for decent price

You can do the same for cheaper. DTOM, myself and TFB all got STOMP II's delivered for under 150 ea. Considering this, are the components they listed worth $250? Meh, from what I hear, you and DTOM got them delivered, but TFB didn't. Seriously, though, looking at the gear list, I'd have to sa...

Filled STOMP 2 for decent price

HAZMATchick called and told me about this. She had gotten her catalog in the mail and wanted to share the info... http://tinyurl.com/2rn5d5 Mrs Medic said that I can get this, so I can drop with it hanging from the bottom of my parachute. (WTF? I might have been Army, but I was "Chairborne" dammit!)

Re: Tried a new Med Supply company...

I The young lady that responded to my e-mail also asked if "I was a member of Zombiehunters". This last part confused the hell out of me, until I realized that I have a "preparedness" slogan in my e-mail sig. line, as well as a link to this site. Well, I responded that I had some other supplies in ...

Anything in particular that you're shopping for?

IMO, it's pretty easy to get an order up to $50, especially if you are buying more than one each of whatever.

Oxygen FTW, in my situations. Asthmatics FTL.

The problem was getting a doc to write me a scrip so that I could get the bottle filled. Then, she moved out of the area, so I don't know what I'm gonna do when mine goes empty. :(

:D Seriously, though, it's optimal to have both available. NPA can be used on conscious and semi-conscious patients, as well as ones with an intact gag reflex. OPA cannot.

Head injury + NPA = potential brain skewer.

Not much of a concern for some patients TheFreakinBear, for example, but an OPA has it's place, just as does an NPA.

Re: Want another FA-scenario?

Pain-response. It can be useful if the patient is of low/no response, to get them to respond in some manner. Kinda like in the movies where they slap someone. It hurts so they respond, only in real life we dont slap people, we usually do sternal rubs. Try it yourself, ball your hand into a fist and...
