Re: Mainstay food rations in the uk

From the Proadventure website:
Proadventure wrote:The instructions see it as a three day lifeboat ration, but for a reasonable level of activity you will want one pack per person per 24 hours.
So, yeah you can eat as much as you want in a day. It just gets dull.

Re: Mainstay food rations in the uk

Just the 2500kcal size. I've just opened one of mine and once you are though the foil outer it is split up into 9 blocks (about the size of a chocolate bar) with 2 pieces/tablet inside. Each tablet is about 140kcal. I tasted one and its no all bad. A little bland, kinda like a rich tea biscuit, but ...

Re: Mainstay food rations in the uk

You can't easily get them brands (Mainstay/Mayday) over here, however, there is a company called Seven Oceans who make a damn near identical product. You can get them from Proadventure - Seven Oceans Emergency Rations. I ordered about 6 bricks from them (for my BOB, car and car bag/GHB) and got my i...

I like this pic better - http://www.everydaynodaysoff.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Mossberg-500-Chainsaw-2.jpg It shows the rails on either side of the forend; now, I can mount TWO SureFire X400's on this bad boy!!! Ahem, there is also a rail on the bottom of the pump so you'll need a third X400 ...

If only them airsofters would make something like THIS for the R-1/H-1/T-1.

However, from what I've read on here - it would probably melt on an UltiMAK.

Re: Idea for a training gun

Airsoft covers most of the bases on this, realistic weight, same size, the gas powered ones keep cycling, mags are the same size and most fit in the pouches you may already own, not too expensive and quite a few common pistols are available.

Also, if you try and put an order in from, say the UK, the price changes from the sale price of $299 and hops back up to the old price of $584.

I would of ordered one by now if I could of done :(

Re: Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle

Good! No spending a fortune on mags then, looks like a very nice rifle to me. Have you seen the price of AICS mags, I recently bought 4 for my AICS Rem700 and it cost me £228 (about $350) - brought a tear to my eye! On MidwayUSA they are $85 each. oooo, this has peaked my interest. I only wonder wh...

Re: No Firearm

I'm mostly sure cap & ball and muzzleloaders aren't classed as firearms in the US and can be mail ordered. These would/should be a viable alternative and lots of people hunt with them.

Don't know if this would work for you, but its worth looking into. I have a Pietta 1858 in .44 and its great fun.

Yeah it worked great for me, but if you do use it get some heavy duty chemical gloves. It burnt through 3 different pairs of chemical resistant gloves until I got some heavy duty things from work. If you need some and can't get it in the US (not sure if you can or not), let me know - I'll buy some a...

Re: Refinishing my Marlin 336 ra 30-30 (Lots of pix)

I re-finished my Marlin 1894c HERE. There are some good tips on what to do to remove the old finish. and how to put a new finish on. I used fine steel wool and a product called Nitromors to strip the old finish off. I didn't use any sand paper IIRC, just steel wool and elbow grease. Good luck and po...

Re: almost just bought an ITL MARS sight

According to Defense update, it 'projects a circular 0.3 mrad reticle at the line of fire' which - if my Googlefu is strong - equates to 1 MOA.

There is also a PDF brochure for the ITL MARS HERE, which comfirms the 0.3 mrad size.

Not had any problems here in Manchester, had maybe 2 inches of snow. Main roads are fine, side roads are a bit slushy now. A master-key that fires arrows? Not really a master-key then, won't be breaching many doors with an arrow. Its cool and a nice conservation piece, but seeing as there is already a suppressor on the AR its kinda superfluous. At least go the whole hog and get a Crossbow upper: http://cdn5.thefirearmsb...
