Re: Postal Match - Nov 08 - "Battlefield Pick Up - Handgun"

Heres my submission from the UK. I used my Pietta .44 black powder revolver, with a round ball and 24 grains of BP substitute. I paced out what was probably close to 8 yards than 7, I havn't used my revolver much: Target 1 - 1st shot missed, then 1 in the 10 ring and 3 in the 5 ring. 25 points. http...

Re: SMG pouch help

How about something like this? Or maybe find a molle panel with a shoulder strap and attach one or two of these? Or even, a Blackhawk Enhanced Battle Bag and attach some of the MP5 molle pouches on the outside and that way you have loads more carry space inside the bag. I think the surplus WWII bags...

Re: Build a gun from scratch?

Yeah, I was just curious as to how hard it would be. It seems anyone could build a rudimentary single shot rifle quite easy with householdish items, but to make something in semi-auto it take a bit more knoledge. Yes, i'm in the UK - as far as I know I could build a firearm, I need to have an open '...

Re: Build a gun from scratch?

I see, possible but not really feesable - too many tools and a lot of knoledge required. I thought the barrell would be the trickiest - i'm sure if you had all the nessesary tools it would be a fun project. Oh well, just have to keep going to the shop to buy my toys :) Cheers for all the sensible re...

If the gates are definatley secure and made of metal, maybe burn them all? Other than that, all they have is a distraction and a run for it?

Build a gun from scratch?

Would it be at all possible to build yourself a bolt-action or semi-auto rifle from scratch. Assuming you have the right types of metal, lathe, milling machine, other engineering toys and, oh yeah, some knoledge. How easy/hard would it be to make one? I have done some reasearch and the closest I can...

Re: Coming soon to the Uk.

Davina got it good style! Patrick is a bit of a tosser. If I was after some bait, i'd be using him as live bait - give him a minor leg injury and set him loose, should prove a good enough distraction.

Re: Coming soon to the Uk.

I wondered why they didn't shoot the 4/5 zeds that attacked them near the police car with their new-found toys and then take all the extra cool stuff out of the car - like radio, extra ammo, police hat, ect.
It wouldn't of taken that long, they had a van running and 2 firearms - damn them!

Re: Coming soon to the Uk.

Looking forward to tonight's episode although they've been making plenty of mistakes that any ZSer worth his salt wouldn't... It makes it more interesting that way! Its still fun looking at what they do and how you would (or think you would) do it differently. Pre-order it here from Play.com - only...

Re: Carrying lever-gun ammo

Thanks again for the response, its been very helpful. I had a look for my 12 rd shotgun pouch and i've lost it, so I ordered a cheap-o eBay knock off to play with. I'm thinking of having two of them, mounted one above the other on my right side, like the BHI EOD vest. Then put about 25(ish) rounds o...

Re: Carrying lever-gun ammo

Thanks very much for all the great replies so far - very helpful and I have plenty to think about. I always wanted a Marlin in .357. I hear that they can have trouble with .38s though, so I'd be interested if you experienced the same problem. As for carrying ammo, Eagle Industries make a MOLLE compa...

Carrying lever-gun ammo

I have recently bought myself a Marlin .357, this is going to be my go to rifle if the worst should happen. So I have been looking for ways to carry the ammo for it. I alreay own a Bulle MLE (basically a TT MAV) which I have added a few other pouchs for folding knife, multi-tool, water, some food an...

Re: Fired some American classics today

The LBR look fun, they would be even more fun if they didn't have that foot long bit of wire hanging off the grip - but still, its a .357 revolver :)
It would compliment the .357 lever rifle i'm going to buy when I have some cash.

Re: Fired some American classics today

Yes, I have a Pietta 1858 New Model Army in .44 - I havn't shot it that much but I did have a pop at a few of the markers at my 100 yard range, it made it and was about 1 foot low and a couple of feet right. Had a shoot on Thursday with it at 25 yards in shitty windy rain and did alright - I need mo...

Re: Fired a black powder muzzle loader today, fun as hell

You only need a license and a special box for black powder, if you use a substitute like triple 7 or pyrodex you don't need anything extra. For my BP pistol I have a 1lb tub of triple 7 powder, non-corosive and washes off with water. Yet another way I have made it easier for you to spend cash I thin...

I have about 250 rounds of SG and 300 of 7.5 stored up for my shotties.
Our rifle ammo is a tad low, we have 0 (zero, zilch, nada) .308 and only about 350 .22 :( a trip to the gunshop is called soon!
