Re: 700 SPS Varmint - Not too bad for the UK... (lots of pics)

Can only shoot 100 yards at the moment, my range is currently building a 200 yard range which should be open later this year. Myself and my dad are hopfully going to go to the Diggle Range which means 1000 yards is possible. I'll need something a bit heavier than 147 grain though :) This is the 700 ...

Re: 700 SPS Varmint - Not too bad for the UK... (lots of pics)

Thanks! I'll be shooting her on Thursday and will (hopefully) post some targets i've shot. I only have Prvi ammo at the moment anything better is flicking expensive over here (Prvi cost me £8.40 per 20, about $11.50) but I shall be reloading as soon as I have some empty brass. My Dads CZ is in .223,...

700 SPS Varmint - Now with new skin 9th July!

I picked my new toy up on Thursday, after much messing about with different gun shops who couldn't hold of one at the 'old' price - USD vs GBP = price went up by £150 or so since Jan 1st. I managed to find one shop that had 1 left at the old price, so off I went. I got my brand new Remington 700 SPS...

Re: Idea for .38/.357 lever gun.

You putting wadcutters in those? FMJ aren't really all that high in performance in the .38/.357. You can't have expanding ammo in the UK, so I recommend wadcutters. I'll be using RNFP (I have a 1000 in my reloading room (spare room)) and possibly some SWC. I've just checked my load data and it woul...

Re: Idea for .38/.357 lever gun.

I have been doing some reading into loading very hot 38spl and have found something called .38-44. Which is basically a .38 case loaded as if it were a .357 magnum. It was done before .357 were created and used in heavy frame revolvers. Most Americans wont see the point in loading a .38 like a .357 ...

...Should only be about 5 miles so it's doable by everyone... What type of trail is it? I'm not in great shape (aiming to change that this year, resolutions and all that) but I do fancy doing this. Is it basically a walk up a bit of an incline, with a bag on my back and it'll proably be raining? If...

Re: Carrying lever-gun ammo

Finally got round to taking some photos of the 12 rd shotgun ammo pouch. A thread over in firearms jogged my memory, i've posted all the piccies and details over there if you fancy a butchers. Like I posted on that thread, two of these pouches would hold all the ammo I wanted quick access to and onc...

Re: Carrying loose ammo tactically?

I asked a similar question a couple of months ago and after all th help I got, the best solution I came up with were the 12rd shotgun ammo poches. Here if the thread. I've just took some pictures (on my mobile, sorry for crapy photos) of some .357s in the 12rd shotgun ammo pouch. Pouch is made by Co...

Re: Most Tacticool stock for a Ruger 10/22 ?

What is the most tacticool stock for a Ruger 10/22 you know? I have seen the Krinker Plinker, and love it, but they don't ship to Europe so they are out, and I also have seen the Muzzelite (sp?) Bullpup Stocks, but as far as I have heard the trigger pull is crap with them. Any other cool Ideas? If ...

I remember someone, I believe one of our english brothers , mentioning that straight pull ar's were available in the UK, due to their severe restricitions..... not sure where that was posted though.... Yep, we are allowed straight pull AR's, AK's, AUG's and the like, as the are just a bolt action b...

Re: R700 Stock [Poll]

My suggestion would be the Accuracy International Chassis System http://www.tacproshootingcenter.com/AICS.html They are fully adjustable, look badass and apparently do stiffen up the rifle enough to have an impact on accuracy. They are a tad expensive though. Yes, yes and yes again. An AICS stock l...

Thanks for the positive replies everyone! I tried to keep it more playful, rather than too serious and used a few items I already had on hand. The light sticks I already had and if I had put in a torch he would probably take it out and use it day to day and not know where it is when he needs it and ...

Have a look at http://www.guntrader.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; there are well over 100 bolt action .308's for sale. Also ask at one of the beter gun shops, the 3 I frequent can all order in pretty much any rifle I want. They have no trouble getting hold of Remington 700s i...

Re: Brit-ZedHunters first Lever Gun

Ive shot mostly RNFP and SWC out of mine, abount 400 rounds now with no problem. At 100 yards I can't really tell the difference between lead and FMJ. When I bought mine and spotted it hafd a microgroove barrel I did some research and people seem to say that FMJ works better as they tend to be sligh...

Re: Brit-ZedHunters first Lever Gun

I got my Prvi from Henry Kranks (west Yorkshire - not sure where you are) for £13 per 50 SWC and £15 for FMJ, for relaoding Peter Lawman has 158 grain lead SWC for anout £45 per 1000. Them prices seem a little steep.
Better shop around or get reloading quick.

Well done dude! I've got a 1894c myself and I know what you mean by the size, i'm about the same height as you and it looks like a toy when I hold it. You'll have great fun, now, go wrap the lever in paracord and save your knuckles. I've been using Prvi .357 in mine (SWC and FMJ) and they are both a...

Both myself and my dad both have our SGC & FAC, we are both allowed access (and use) or each others guns - but he gets upset if I use all of his ammo. Miserable swine

Re: UK defense

You can get combination guns in the UK, your FAC must specify a combination and both calibres - but its very doable. Goto Guntrader > Guns for Sale > Combination Gun > Mechanisms (All) > View Guns. There are just under a dozen.
A 12 gauge and .223 combo and a 20 gauge and .22 combo popped out at me.

I confirm 43 points and have entered your entry. Not a bad group, actually. Just need to work on getting point of aim and point of impact to coincide. I'd love to read more about your BP revolver. You should start a thread in firearms about the gun. I don't shoot BP yet myself, so I'm interested in...
