Re: Suicidal son of a friend
Another thing, focus the direction of casual conversation to the future in a hopeful way. Don't dwell on the past. The past is what got them in their current head space. And having no hope for the future wont help. Example: talk about going fishing this summer or a new show that's coming out or a ne...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo
As for the ACR/Masada, it'd be cool if Magpul could buy back the rights to it now that Bushmaster is just a memory. I bet they've been waiting for this moment for awhile now. Is the ACR actually...I dunno...good? There was a ton of press when it was the Masada, then it seemed to just vanish. I actu...

Re: Suicidal son of a friend
I have a decent amount of experience with mental health through family and work experience (addiction counseling, crisis intervention, occupation therapy). There's a long complex answer. But the short answer, be there, let him know you're there and not judging. And listen. Everyone is going to want ...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo
PSA stuff is always my go to. On another note, the sad thing about this whole Remington dropping Bushmaster, DPMS, and others... Is the dropping of the ACR (I want Magpul to take back the rights and make it as good as it needs to be ala CZ Bren or Beretta APX) And not having a standard for AR10s Th...

There was one I was listening to a few times. Don't remember the name. Husband and wife, I think. Pretty annoying, I just remember rolling my eyes a lot. But I'm very cynical and very hard to please. There was a long zombie mini series story that I liked a lot. Took me through grad school by listeni...

Radioflash movie on Hulu
Radioflash
Starring the crazy little girl from TWD, Dominic whatever from Lord of the Rings, and the assistant coach from Remember the Titans.
Basically an EMP wipes out the grid. Mix in some smart but unprepared people drama.
I'm about 30 minutes in, so far, not too bad.

I've used Testors with good results.
The key on anodized aluminum is to wipe it away with mineral spirits on a cloth if you're filling.
I scraped it away on a lower using a credit card, and it is now ingrained in the anodizing as the texture is so fine. Luckily, it was an Anderson beater lower.

Didn't Classic Firearms used to sell Bear Creek ARs a couple years ago ? I seem to recall seeing a bunch of their stuff on Classic's website, but it could've been another brand with Bear in the name. I know they did ... If I remember, they used to be Morris Machine or something and had lots of issu...

What brand upper? I'm considering a 50 or 450 Bushy for moose this year... It's Midway's house brand, they were running the 10.5 upper on sale a couple weeks ago. Seems accurate enough in initial testing, but seems to be overgassed with the two loads I tried, which were Underwood 300 and 325's. I'm...

Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo
I picked up a 10.5" 50 Beowulf upper and got a chance to test fire it over the weekend. I ran it on a pistol lower. First shot I smacked myself in the face with the iron sight. That pistol brace puts my face a lot closer to the action than a typical stock. And it seems it recoils a bit more than 55...

Here is a little update on the US Consulate in Wiuhan. Assuming no hold up s from the Chinese ministry, a 240 pax charter jet will arrive tomorrow. Not sure if it helps anyone... But I work in a city hospital. Hand hygiene constantly is a big key to success. I wash my hands before I touch my face/mouth, after I use a computer, before and after I enter/leave a room, or if I basically touch anything at work. Also do similar things at home. Also, ...

Both Selco and Ferfal talked about how they'd have been better off in a smaller rural town or village . Not rural all alone. The people living alone in isolated homes or cabins did very poorly and were easy prey. ... Rebecca Solnit examined how people behave in major disasters in her book " A Parad...

Problem with the Henry's are they are blued... Wish they were nitride or something tough, maybe stainless. Looks like PSA is also dropping the Jakl or something... There's some great stuff coming from SHOT this year. I think it was last year or the year before that was very disappointing... Basically all accessories. With the time it takes product development and engineering, of basically small companies (even big companies are small compared to other markets)...

Just gonna throw it out there that I bought this through Amazon and just watched it.
Big fan overall. Good throw backs and good jokes. Too many things are too preachy nowadays, and I think it had a really good time for modern comedy.
Worth renting for sure.

I think you've made a very accurate assessment with good assumptions, except for 1 of your points. 7c. In my opinion, it does not matter what someone believes in or how someone lives their lifestyle when the SHTF. I wouldn't trust anyone to live communally in times of need the same way they do in ti...
