Re: M&P shield vs xds

Both are quality. You can't go wrong with either. Pick which one feels best while taking into acount cost.

***It is also important to realize whichever brand you pick, you will be forever stuck as being their fanboy, so choose wisely***

Re: Bear and feral pigs whilst running

This has probably been said but I gave up reading all the pages: For RUNNING mixed with BEAR/HOG/METHHEAD DEFENSE , you will want small and potent, such as the pistols that the OP has already mentioned. I would go with a lightweight pocket .357 mag such as the Taurus 605 Poly or Ruger LCP or S&W 340...

Re: My First Pistol: What are the Options?

No 1911 love? Though I find the 1911 to be a sexy all around platform, for the money I think there are better "first pistols". My first handgun was a gift from my grandfather, it was a hand-me-down .45 1911 double stack when I was 13 (obviously my father kept it locked up except for cleaning/range ...

Re: Mossberg MVP Patrol any good

My brother has the 5.56/.223 MVP Predator. The thing is dumb accurate. Looks/feels gorgeous. Trigger is a dream. Bolt is so smooth. One of the best "bang for your buck" rifles out there. Much better quality than the budget designed Mossberg 4x4 and ATR. I honestly know it will outshine my trusty Rem...

Here is my list of budget guns that I listed on another thread, as I am in the same market for another 9mm (prices are new from online searches without FFL transfer/shipping): -Ruger 9e $300 -Ruger P95 $300 (at my local store) -S&W SD9 VE $300 -Walther PPX $355 -Springfield XD service $375 -SIG Saue...

Re: Prepper armor

BENCH PRESS. THAT'S ALL. I disagree, if you are referring to the ability to shove an incoming attacker away (which I am assuming). The bench might build raw strength, but do power pushups to mimic an actual shove  I was referring to my chest being made of iron because it was forged by iron......

Re: What is Your Favorite Gun?

ALL OF THEM... even a Caracal Seriously though, my #1 overall draft pic would be a boring 1911... even though they aren't the best, I don't even really love the one I have, but just because of the sexiness and history. But my runner-ups would be: -Bolt rifle: Springfield 1903 -Semi rifle: SKS (maybe...

I think I got lost

Joined the forum a little while ago but never introduced myself... I came here to talk guns, stayed for the fun and knowledge. I tried other forums but since I don't take life seriously this is my new interweb home for b.s.ing and learning new things. I consider myself a jack of all trades, master o...

Rem Oil... dunno why, but I love the stuff. Used it to free up anything from door locks on my oldest Jeep to my guns to my girlfriend (jk... but seriously). Also PB Blaster and WD-40 ave a place in my garage as well. With all 3, a roll of duct tape, and a set of vice grips, you can conquer the world...

Re: smallish SUVs with decent towing

Browsing through the nissan site I don't see a tow package that adds extra coolers or changes anything. All that gets added is a hitch and a wiring harness. For most vehicles we have looked at you need some option to get the higher tow rating. For the Xterra it just says to read the owners manual t...

Re: You're prepping is about to be put to the test.

And remember, in a real survival situation, knowing how to let stuff slide off your back like water off a duck is an important survival skill. We have to learn to be cool and relaxed, mentally. Even when other survivors are abrasive. We practice those skills now so when we need them, we have them. ...

Leapers UTG makes horizontal and vertical shoulder holsters. They are on CheaperThanDirt for like $12 so it might be cheap enough to try and see if you get lucky.

Re: Weird question...

Ever think of a shotgun with the rubber bullets?? that would be a good home tool. It would not, for all the same reasons a handgun with rubber bullets would be a bad idea. I'm saying compared to a revolver with rubber bullets. A least LEOs use rubber shotgun rounds as a less-than-lethal option, I n...

Re: smallish SUVs with decent towing

If you want something that is great for towing get something that is a "body on frame" construction like a truck, preferably with a solid rear axle. If you want something that is great for driving comfort and fuel economy you will be looking at a "unibody" like a car/crossover Examples of decent tow...

folding stock?? then go 20" barrel... it just makes sense :)

You don't lift you truck to put small tires on it and you don't go on a diet to buy a bigger pant size. make the rifle match all around

Should I trade my Para Ordnance P14?

Hey guys, Can anyone guess the value of a standard Para Ordance P14 in good/great condition? Have original book and box with 3 mags. It is one of the original Canadian manufactured versions when quality was supposedly better. New Para 14.45's go for around $750 and I've seen multiple older Para's on...

My vote: Mosin m44 carbine because I am not afraid to beat it off a tree or rock to free it up and it is proven I arctic conditions I would also consider a Win M70, Ruger M77, Weatherby Mark V due to their action/extractor designs On a side note, I was wa...
