Re: Updating some info

Gunny's 1st post.... May he study for law school in peace..... Guys, Just heard about this site from Will while we worked together during the disaster work. I'm a competitive marksman for the US Development Team and wanted to throw my two cents into the mix here. With regards to a rifle and it...

Re: Dollar Store Clearance = Start my FAK

You can still find some really good deals at places like Big Lots / Odd Lots as well as the many different "Dollar" Stores. I find stuff at the "Dollar" stores all the time that I use to replenish what we've already used like self-adhesive bandages or Bactine.

Re: GSA auctions

I check it every so often but I saw a lot of good stuff on there so I decided to bump the thread. Belleville boots can be uber expensive. I saw an auction for 180 some pairs in 1 lot and bidding started at $25.

Re: Req: Comprehenssive List of Documents To Carry

And in my defense, maps are important documents....you try to get somewhere without a GPS (a digital map) or a paper map and tell me it's not important lol. Just remember to never laminate your social security card as it will become void if you do so and you'll have to get another. So, I guess you'...

Re: USB Drives

Andy, that is not only crazy but crazy brilliant! I would just shit into a bag or something somehow after swallowing it. I wonder if you could somehow laminate it....it would protect it from stomach acid and then you could cut the laminate off later....I'm thinking in terms of long term....not your ...

Re: Req: Comprehenssive List of Documents To Carry

You can take any of your maps that you might have to OfficeMax or somewhere like that to have them laminate them for you as long as they aren't wider than I believe 24" or 36". Call them and they can tell you for sure. Since I got out I've put my important documents in a safe and I'm about to start ...

Re: USB Drives

That's what I'm saying about SD Cards with an SD card reader. It replaces your Flashdrive with many smaller cards. I have maybe like 15 of them bad boys and I spent 1/4 to 1/2 the amount of money that I would have to have purchases their Flashdrive counterparts. 2gb SD cards are cheap as hell, typic...

Re: GSA auctions

Oh, and the best way to search is locally as you have to pick everything up...unless you want to drive across the country to pick something up that is..... That auction I'm watching is only an hour away so I'm stoked...I'll keep watching it for the next couple of days and see what happens. It would ...

Re: GSA auctions

I found a bunch of awesome stuff on the GSA Auction site today. For example you can currently bid on a lot of 27 expedition display cases which are basically what you would throw equipment and gear into if you are going on some kind of hardcore expedition. If it wasn't for the fact I lack a truck I ...

Re: Army Surplus Store

After moving to Columbus I found a really cool Surplus Store in the Reynoldsburg area. There is also a place called Cousins down on 23 south towards downtown Columbus. I believe the place in Reynoldsburg is called General's Surplus or something like that. There is a lot of good stuff in there and co...

Re: Cleaning and Maintenance of your firearms

I'm wondering, how can I properly disassemble my Hi-Point J45? I want to strip all the way down and clean that son of a gun hardcore style. Oh wait, that's right, it's a hunk of metal, pistol grip, firing pin, and trigger. Sorry! Answered my own question! I think I've cleaned out the barrel a handfu...

Re: USB Drives

I just don't think for survival purposes they are good enough for the money. For data that I would transfer every day to and from work that might be sensitive then yeah, they're great. Outside of that? I don't think that having my data backed up online after everything has been knocked out is good e...

Re: USB Drives

Flash drives are handy as fuck. What you need to do is buy a USB SD card reader and then just start buying a shit ton of SD cards. When SD cards go on sale, they are cheaper than their USB counterparts. After you've bought even just 4, you've paid for the SD card reader. You can currently buy up to ...
