Re: New XDs
If your really considering a red dot or something along those lines, spend the extra money and get a crimson trace laser. You get what you pay for. You can see the crimson trace on my XD9 in the second picture. It's not bad, and it makes for a good nightstand gun, but I don't think that it's the di...

Re: Trouble in Los Angeles
Here's the second vehicle that got shot. They rammed him first, setting the airbags off, and when he didn't get out in time, they fired into the truck. A Ford Bronco forum that I frequent, has a member that is cousins with the victim. Apparently he lives in the vicinity of one of Dorners targets. h...

Re: Went to a Gun show Today
It wasn't a gun show, but a loud and clear example of the current climate. I went into my local BiMart, where I usually get ammo, just to poke around. When I saw the ammo section my head about spun off my shoulders. No 9, no 45, no 22s/lr/mag, no 223, no 308, no 12g, nothing except for 38spc, 243, ...

When I saw the guy hit the other guy with the hat - I thought it was a spoof. The hat to the face is not a strike, it's a distraction technique. Like a jab. Not every move/blow is the massive attack finishing move. L&B per OP request. Unrelated: I love massive attack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

So now that we've all shown that we've read a Time-Life series on WWII, can we shut up about the Garand, Tokarev, and Walther designed rifles of WWII?

Re: The BATF Paid Me A Visit Yesterday
Honestly, I've only met a few BATFE agents, and (not being political, just truthsome) it didn't seem like any of them had much more knowledge of firearms than the average joe. It's like they were trained to look for certain "scary" features, without any real understanding of how firearms really wor...

I'm not sure why theres hate for the FFL, guys just trying to run a business. I wouldn't expect someone to stick up for me over a $25 transfer. My gut says that ATF is looking at the company who made it, and was wating for UPS to drop off the 1919. There's a decided difference between standing back...

As someone who was friendly with a lot of the ZSX people, and was there when it collapsed, I have to say that ZS Policies were not on the table as a major cause of it doing so. As a chapter VP who was initially part of a regional chapter, then a state chapter, and now a local one... It doesn't work ...

Re: .357 SIG vs. .40 S&W vs. .357 magnum
My understanding is that .357 Sig was preferred no just due to terminal ballistics but for being faster / flatter shooting over distance, like 7.62 Tok. It hasn't been preferred by very many. And that right there sums up .357SIG for me. I thought it was awesome when it came out, but it just hasn't ...

Re: DIY Hidden Fish Raising Pond
Are there plans for an aerator? Even a small pond like that needs a little something to keep water moving and dissolved oxygen levels up. Shade, wind, and plants will do a lot to keep the DO up. I think this is going to either require a lot of constant work on the OP's part, or turn into a green po...

If you can plug a gas tube with 60,000 PSI going through it, I'll give you $5.zombie_kibble wrote:Necessary...no...but still kinda cool. besides some x39 ammo can be dirty and if you plug that gas tube you got a flashy single shot.
