Re: What is your plan for washing clothes in the event?

When I was in England last year, my mom dragged me to the Holst Birthplace Museum in Cheltenham (she's a retired music teacher). the house has been restored to how it looked in the Victorian Era, and I found the scullery in the basement full of useful ideas. http://images2.bridgemanart.com/cgi-bin/b...

Re: Diggers New Toy (Pics Added) Range Report of Types

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I just picked one of these up myself (traded even for a Red Ryder BB gun and an old fishing pole!). It didnt come with any bolts, and I am not sure what length bolts and nock type to get. What does yours use?

Re: M1A/M14 SOCOM Stock, Quad Rail

ZS rules say if you're selling a firearm, you need to host the sale somewhere else, like Gunbroker, and the link to that site. The mods are going to lock this thread until you do that, so you might as well beat 'em to the punch and get the sale hosted somewhere right away. Good luck! Again with tha...

M1A/M14 SOCOM Stock, Quad Rail

For sale is a Federal Ordnance M1A/M14 with a SOCOM Stock and Quad Rail fore grip. It is fitted with a USGI M60 Sling and includes 4 20rd Mags. The rifle is used in excellent condition. The only things wrong with it is some minor paint chipping on the butt plate (no rust), and the stock is missing t...

Re: Tire Change Becomes a Preparedness "Teachable Moment"

I've always felt that tire change procedure should be part of the driver's license exam. Tires are one of the most vulnerable parts of the car, hell they eventually wear out and fail even if they are perfectly maintained. Remember the tunnel scene in 28 Days Later ? If you can't do something under d...

Re: Zombie bunker help

There is a really great army field manual called "Survivability" (FM 5-103) that has all sorts of bomb shelter, gun emplacement, revetment, etc plans. And since it's designed for soldiers, it's written in pretty simple, non-engineering terminology, with a lot of great illustrations.

Re: Rossi's new circut judge revolving carbines

I am rather leery of revolver carbines, something I read when I was twelve about in the old days they had the tendency to set off the other cartridges when firing. The modern chance of that happening is nill, but still... That was with black powder, not cartridge ammo. Pistols did it too, but it wa...

Re: First gun, just in time for X-mas

I know it's not a viable ZPAW Bug Out gun, neither is it very good for HD or CCW. It doesn't matter, none of those things are even remotely legal here anyway. The best gun in the world is the one you actually have when the SHTF. If the heavy stuff is illegal in your country, that means no-one will ...

Question about personal firearms for Iraq/Afghan Vets

I was in the army in the 90s, then I got disabled after I got out, but before 9/11. So I am kinda curious about how this is done nowadays. If you are deployed to either Iraq or Afghanistan, can you bring a personal weapon with you? For instance, I own an old Kentucky State Police .357 that belonged ...

Re: Sometimes I cry myself to sleep.

also be very carefull with that old pistol. per something i was watching on TV (i know i know) they have exposed seers and if you push on seer the hand gun will shoot. That's not the Nambu, that's the Type 94 that had the exposed sear. The Nambu is the one that looks like a Luger with a bottle cap ...
