I'd be the one kicking off the zombie apocalypse; I'm a Lab Animal Tech at an emerging disease and bio-defense research facility.

Re: Why we really need a gun
I dogsat a dog once that would have been put down with a .22 if I wasn't living within city limits (and unable to legally discharge a firearm), but I wouldn't want to do my own pet that way. I'd hate for it to go wrong and have my last memory of them being something awful. I need guns or else my amm...

Re: Moving to Maryland
MD's rejection of CCW permit applications due to lack of need was found unconstitutional, but they're currently appealing the decision. Depending on how that goes, obtaining a permit could become much easier.

I tried steaming the chip out and that didn't work, so I'll try the lacquer suggestion next.
The original sights kinda glow in the dark a little, but they need to be recharged with sunlight frequently or they won't keep their glow.

Re: New CZ P01
I installed a set of Mepro Night Sights today. I knew going into it that if I screwed up I could end up with anything from minor scuffs to wrecking the slide, so I tried to be cautious. Removing the roll pin holding in the front sight took a lot more force than I expected; I was afraid of slipping s...

Re: New CZ P01
Glad that ss guide rod isn't giving you trouble, it'd suck to find out too late that it messed things up. I've been thinking of trying out some G10 grips, but since I'm not using the holster anyway I'll give those wooden ones a try. I'll try to get it in the mail to you tomorrow. I'll PM you my addr...

Is yours steel or alloy framed? A ss guide rod will mess up an alloy framed model. They've got an aluminium guide rod out now to replace the polymer one in the alloy guns.ausher wrote:All ive done to mine was add a ss guide rod from steve bedair.
Are those grips any thinner than the stock rubber ones?

Re: New CZ P01
I think the reason the leather was cut that way may have been because I went for the combat cut option, but I haven't seen a picture of the P01 version without it so I'm not sure if it'd be better. I'm not sure if the Kydex will fit the PCR since it doesn't have the rail, but if you want it I might ...

New CZ P01
Ordered it from Bud's Gun Shop since nobody local had them; it was torture waiting for it to ship, they usually take 3-7 business days but I ordered it on a Friday night before a three day weekend so it ended up being almost a full two weeks before it even left their warehouse. But after waiting for...

Re: Home Protection K9 Training-Who has done it and what met
I've got the book on Keohler Method, but decided against using it because he was very adamant about it being only for full-time dedicated guard/attack dogs, and not a family pet. For myself, I've decided bite training isn't worth the risk.

Re: Tabletop RPG, and my gaming rig
I started gaming a about a year ago; I had just moved somewhere new and thought it'd be a good way to meet some people. Started out playing some home brew Mechwarrior type thing, then a Star Wars game, and 4E D&D. Then I started running a Deadlands: Reloaded game, and it's by far my favorite. It's t...

Re: does this make much practical sense?
I think it depends on what you're going for. I prefer to shoot my shotgun like a shotgun; I point rather than aim, using the bead as a reference point while my focus is on the target. I don't shoot slugs often, so just the bead is sufficient for me and anything more would probably just slow me down....

Irish Setter Upland Boots: http://i.stpost.com/erez4/erez?src=ProductImages/2722X_01.tif&tmp=FullSize&redirect=0 I've been using them as winter boots at work, but it's been in the nineties lately and they're still comfortable so they may end up my year round work footwear. Outside of work I have a s...

Re: Yugo M57 Tokarev Pistol 7.62x25mm
I was just about to ask if ya had gotten the grips worked out, damn... that is disconcerting. Sorry I haven't been following this one, but what was up with the CCSA mags? Feed issue? I'm not sure how the grips are made, so I don't know if mine was a lemon or if all the Yugo Tok grips he makes are g...

Re: Yugo M57 Tokarev Pistol 7.62x25mm
So it turns out it wasn't just the screw and the grip actually did have issues with improper fit. I stuck some industrial strength adhesive on it to make it fit right, and so far it's working but I haven't shot it yet. I also exchanged my CCSA mags, so hopefully the new ones will work better. I migh...

Re: Designing a 'Prepared partyer' kit
While I admire the spirit behind your "party kit", I'm inclined to say "fuck'em". These aren't your kids, either in the literal sense or as in the ones on your floor if you're still an RA. They need to learn that this isn't Highland Park anymore and mommy and daddy aren't going to be there to fetch...

Re: Yugo M57 Tokarev Pistol 7.62x25mm
So the folks (or is it just one guy?) at Marshal Grips haven't responded yet, but I fixed the problem myself. When you look at the inside of the grip (either the Marschals or original, they're identical) when it's on the pistol, there's a cutout section that looks like it should fit against the fram...

I hope they send me a new one without making me send the old one all the way back to Budapest. I'm almost tempted to just glue a bar of wood to it to make it fit, but I don't know how well that'll hold up.

Re: Yugo M57 Tokarev Pistol 7.62x25mm
Picked up my grips this morning. Took me a minute to figure out how to get them on since they used a different system than the originals, but then the first one went on real easy. The second however, doesn't fit correctly; the part that goes into the frame fits well on the bottom and sides, but does...

Re: Yugo M57 Tokarev Pistol 7.62x25mm
Do you carry it with a round in the chamber? I've seen a lot of back and forth about whether or not it was drop safe, and since I'm new to handguns it's probably for the best if I go with something that I know for sure to be safe. Also, my Marschal grips have been shipped. Not sure how long it takes...
