Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Finally went and picked out my first rifle. It's a used rifle. A Sako 591 in 6,5x55 with a worn but perfectly working Burris scope.
I got to testfire it and at 100m the holes overlap. :awesome:
Now all I have to do is wait for the police to sign the paperwork...

Re: What are YOU currently lusting after? (firearms related)

Saw a used Tikka 695 in .30-06 on sale in a town nearby today. Think I'm going to go there this week and ask to testfire it. (It's a rural gunshop that has it's own range.)

Re: What are YOU currently lusting after? (firearms related)

I'm about to buy my first rifle so that's where my mind is.

Either a Weatherby Vanguard (my wallet would like that) or a Sauer 202 (my heart would like that).
I'll probably settle for a Tikka T3 because I can't make my mind up... In .308W anyway.

Any sturdy and heavy stick or metal pipe 21"-26" long will do as long as you can grip it firmly and swing it correctly. Cheap too.

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Got my firearmslicens yesterday. Picked up a shotgun, 100 shells and a cleaning kit today. My first privately owned firearm.

To bad I don't have time to test it for another two weeks because I will be out travelling with the GF, but still feels pretty darn good.

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Bought myself a weapon safe and ordered my first two firearms. A Browning X-bolt (.308W) and a Browning Citori.

Now I just have to wait for delivery and then for the police to approve my licensapplications. So... a couple of months till they're actually in my hands.

Re: Limiting your Cache to Three Calibers...

I don't have a permit for handguns, only rifles. So for me it's easy. 6,5x55 (big enough for all game in Sweden) 12g (for hunting) .22lr (for hunting game to small for the shotgun or 6,5 as well as bulk ammo for snipe-ing zombies in the head) All three are common here. If I didn't live in Sweden I w...

I am guessing they called it raven because they don't know Swedish  Thanks for the info. I have a Finnish and Swedish heritage on my dads side of the family. I have a tendency to go for fennoscandian items, especially if they are cheap. It seems that Swedish companies are good at producing...

Re: Swedish Raven inexpensive medical bag (pics)

Swedish goverment issue, built for wartime use by rescuepersonel according to the labels. Manufactured by Fjällräven (one of our best outdoor brands). Never seen one before, likely cold war surplus.

Why is it called Raven? Fjällräven means polar fox. :)

Ordered a vest for protection (stabproof and NIJ II bullet protection) and a pair of stabresitant gloves for my new part time work as a doorman. Better safe than sorry.

Otherwise I used the day to study for my exam on the hunting course I'm taking so I can get a firearms license.
