Re: The battle of the PCCs

Tac 9 is intriguing from a size and simplicity standpoint. Presumably they'll be adding sights at some point... If it is anything like the Tec-9 it is trying to look like it won't need sights. Every round will head in a random direction. I'm on the AR Pistol bandwagon. It's easier to suppress and y...

Re: Robot Uprising - Or, what to do when AI Does All The Jobs

We know what the machine gun did to war in the late 1800's and early 1900's. AI weapns will do the same, I suspect. We ZS folk should probably gather ours now before the 2068 AI Weapon Control Act and various Assault AI bans take effect. Not going to happen as long as we have the NRA ( Na...

Re: Camp Fire

I realize it's kind of a over generalization . But do you think having the foresight to have water towers or personal fire trucks would even enter the minds of people who insist on living in such a disaster prone area ? I mean this is not a what if scenario. It's a when. It happens kinda regularly t...

Gotta be the devils advocate here. The shooter was a Marine who had been in combat. He placed his life on the line to protect his country. When the PTSD set in and he needed help. His country failed him. With the high number of Vet's who have been in combat. And the obscene state of mental health se...

Re: The Coming Civil War

I was just reading the Camp fire thread. Clicking on the links and also searching for photos/ maps ect. on google. I came upon a twiter feed from a reproductive lawyer near Malibu. He had amazingly frightening pictures and running commentary of the Woolsey fire as he evacuated from his home . But in...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Found out about a new LGS in the strangest way today. My Jeep has built-in nav and an app that allows you to search for things online and send the address to the nav unit. Super handy when you don't want to have to type on the screen in the vehicle. Anyway, the nearest range to me is called The Ran...

But anyway the data doesn't show the recommended use for each powder so that takes more research. You could use power pistol for 9mm, ...

Re: California hit by 39 tremors in 24 hours

My "take" on it is that so long as these small tremors bleed off the tension/energy that's a good thing, and makes the "Big One" less likely. That could be. I always liked to hope that, when I lived in Cali. It could also be the small quakes though are like a hammer cocking on a revolver. In this c...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Many powder manufacturers will attach short lists of recommendations to their products. However a complete list such as you mentioned would be very difficult. Add that many powders are capable of being used in calibers far outside of their ideal range and you have a true rats nest. yea .. thought s...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

When looking at reloading data books they list by caliber and load data for several powders. I got to thinking is there a chart or book that lists by powders and their suitability to caliber? What I got to thinking bout is if you have a certain powder a quick reference to all calibers it could be us...

BHP . At the distances you will be shooting 60's ball ain't gonna matter. But how much choice do you think the real tunnel rats had? It would probably just be something from whatever was normally carried on patrol. Didn't 60's era U.S. military use Winchester or Stevens shotguns?
