Re: Criminals Posing as LEOs After SHTF

So I started writing on the subject of cops and uniforms. But strayed into the "after all the uniforms are gone" territory. And wrote some on the use of camo. Which I think is sorely underrated in the prepper community. And many falsehoods seem to proliferate. I've been reading a lot of Selco too. ...

Check your county website as most have a GIS map function (for just that county) that sometimes has general map, topographical and aerial views. Plus would also show property boundries

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

FYI: It has been 9 days since anyone posted. :? I've got nothing left to say since I sold all my firearms, shaved my head and decided I'd be better off defending my self with a two foot length of 1/2 in Pvc pipe and a used stubby pencil . Remember ... All hail the whole, cause the Whole hales all. ...

Got anything to back that claim up other than personal bias? There is this, The emergence of warlords, armed factions, dacoits, bandit groups, and so-forth is well documented in societies that have experienced the serious breakdown of the national institutions of civil society. Frankly I would be more worried about LEO's becoming criminals.

i.e. Katrina, Hell even Canadian cops go Mad Max at the drop of a hat, or flood, or ice storm. LEO's are the FIRST people you need to control in a SHTF scenario.

Re: Bugging Out to Wal-Mart, Costco, Sams Club: No!

After the LA riots a lot of stores were never rebuilt. The truth is far more complex. Before the riots the residents of South Central (now called South L.A.) started efforts to rid the area of some of the more than 700 liquor stores, a blight on their community. Ultimately the riots destroyed 30% o...

Family Dollar, Wilmington, NC - September 2018 after a minor Hurricane. I wonder if the reporter would be shocked if some thug started beating on her and the camera person? Makes you wonder just how many of the people who don't evacuate are criminals betting on surviving the storm and hitting jackpot on the looter lottery.

Re: Ammo can or Ammo Brick?

I posted that link because you said you wanted something better and then referenced the plastic copies of a .50 cal ammo can. ( which would be better than the plastic copies ). But I have to ask. What possible scenario do you foresee that involves pack boarding Three cans of ammo in place of a pack...

Re: Ammo can or Ammo Brick?

I have my share of 50's, wide 50s, and 40mm; The 30's are the only thing I really use for ammo. They are far more portable if you have to lug them by the top handle, and in the case of pack boarding the slimmer width keeps the weight closer to your COG for better carriage. My 50's mostly sit empty....

Re: Ammo can or Ammo Brick?

I am eagerly awaiting the day they make something better then the skinny "30 cal" ammo cans for storing ammo, but I haven't seen it yet. I toyed with some modern plastic cans because of the lighter weight, but the amount that the container can deform and break the seal was a dealbreaker right off t...

The seeds are packed in a Mylar envelope. I’m gonna keep them at room temperature. I don’t know about 20 years but they may last a few.
Does it have any recommendations on the package?

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Convince me I do not need anymore handguns, esp compact handguns. Childreth's law states that the number of handguns a person acquires admits a map to the 2-sphere that is non-trivial (i.e. non-homotopic to a constant map), when the 2nd Betti number of M is positive. This means the 2nd cohomology g...

Re: Women wearing headphones fails to heed active shooter warning, gets shot

There are many arguments here and elsewhere as to what is the most important prep. I think this illustrates the one prep I have always said is the most important...situational awareness is the key preparation. No one can be at condition orange 24/7/365. Still you can train yourself to habitually lo...
