Thank you. Quartz will do, want something light weight, not a big fan of luminox, any other brands you can recommend? These will be big, but Deep Blue, well known for their dive watches, has their DAYNIGHT DIVER TRITIUM on discount: http://www.deepbluewatches.com/daditrco.html Then take another 40%...

Re: Watches for long-term survival off the grid
Accurate time really only became a common thing with the advent of railroads, so I'd question the need for a watch. You'll want to know roughly when it's sunrise, sunset, maybe rough times to go fill the generator or whatever. Learn how the shadows move in your environment and how to estimate time ...

I've heard nothing but good things about the Seiko automatics. Re: Watches for long-term survival off the grid
I believe a lot of the newer gshocks are solar. So you never need a battery. Mine is anyway. The mudman IIRC. All the solar powered watches rely on an internal rechargeable battery or capacitor. When it dies, the watch won't work unless in direct sunlight. The lifespan, if you treat the watch to id...

Re: Watches for long-term survival off the grid
How long do the replacement batteries last in storage, though? G-Shock makes sense to me for price/durability. But 10 to 15 years into the PAW, having a rarely used automatic in your watch collection could be your go to watch when batteries are all dead. Or a Citizen Eco Drive with a back up capacit...

It wasn't what I wanted to see exactly but I disagree that it sucked and I didn't think we were going to have it easy. This episode was a part of the entire story - Morgan's story, and his escape from Crazier Than Rick-Town - and it was good that it was told. I agree. Decent story that adds to the ...

A Russian airliner crashed on Sinai killing 200+ people. Isis claimed responsibility but officials are saying there were other problems. It is too early to tell at this point. However, if it was downed by ISIS there will be a lot more trouble. No doubt. The Russian military response would likely be...
