Re: Show me your well used, worn, old, and patina-ed EDC gear!

Surefire Backup I've carried since early 2008. It's been impossible to kill. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/Shizniggity/IMG_20130812_044159_zps023da433.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/Shizniggity/IMG_20130812_044149_zpscb285fc2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/Shizniggi...

Re: CountyComm Maratac AAA Copper flashlight review.

I've had in my EDC a Maratac AAA Rev 2 with the black finish (two separate identical units, lost one replaced it with the other) for about a year. In my experience I have never had any flickering on either one of the lights except when the battery is low. Also the black finish on the body of the lig...

Re: Gloves for AK/ work

You could look into a pair of climbing gloves. I have a pare in my BOB, they are designed for rock climbing so movement is very good, they breath well, and are tough (designed to be abrasion resistant, ie scraping up on rocks etc.). The only thing that might not work for you, is I think most of them...

Re: How do you justify paying $200+ for an EDC blade?

Well you already ordered your knife but, I have always carried 50 dollar and under pocket knives. Victronox ,Buck, Kershaw ect. I ordered an Emerson thats 180 dollar's , and been carring it for the last month and a half. The Emerson is a really nice knife. It holds its edge well the workmanship and...

Re: How do you justify paying $200+ for an EDC blade?

I could get like 4 good Spyderco's for $200 bucks. The only expensive folders I've personally looked at were by Zero Tolerance for real hard use. Benchmade's can be a lil pricey too. Things I look for in a knife before I spend my money are: the manufacturer, the steel, the grind, what the scales ar...

Awsome even if it isnt patina-ed, I love seeing other peoples EDCs. What watch model is that? I wear a Casio PRW2500-1A, that one loos kinda similar? It's this one. It wasn't what I ordered originally, but the other was out of stock so I got this one plus a nice discount. http://www.casio-usa.com/p...

Re: How do you justify paying $200+ for an EDC blade?

I chose a Ontario Rat 1 for my new EDC, still in the mail.
It has good reviews and is inexpensive $30 or so. I'm a right tool for the job kind of guy, but not having to worry something happening to it is one less thing on my mind. Besides I can use that money on some other gear.

Re: How do you justify paying $200+ for an EDC blade?

You justify it by earning 150,000 a year. Seriously, what are you doing that it gets so much use and abuse? If it is for work, then you can justify it as a job related expense on your itemized federal tax return. Being able to afford an expensive knife isn't a good reason to buy one. Its not that I...

How do you justify paying $200+ for an EDC blade?

Recently I went through the processes of purchasing a new EDC knife and was constantly wresting with how much I was willing to drop on a knife. Especialy when I know that this blade is going to see a LOT of TOUGH use, face exposure to the elements, and possibly get used in ways that it wasn't design...

Re: CRKT m16 worth the money?

Hey guys thanks for your insight on the m16, after considering your comments and doing a little more research I decided to order a Ontario Rat 1. I figured with that low of a price and such good reviews it was worth giving it a shot before I go and spend more money on a different knife. -Thanks guys...

CRKT m16 worth the money?

Background: About 6 months ago I decided I would buy a "good" knife (no name folder) that I would try to carry most days whenever I could. Today I carry it every day and can't remember the last time that I haven't carried it… along with a Leatherman SupperTool 300, Maratac AAA rev 2, Fisher Space P...

Show me your well used, worn, old, and patina-ed EDC gear!

This is my first post here on the ZS forum, I have been lurking around through dozens of threads for the past few days since opening my account and haven't gotten to read through even a percentage of whats out there on this awesome forum. So I don't know if this has been done before, but whil...
