Hi! Welcome to the forum!

Yeah, we have to hide our redbox rentals. We can't be too careful. ;)

It sounds like you have some interesting hobbies. What has been your favorite project so far?

Re: The best Machete setup I've ever seen!

Love those videos. I'm wondering if theres any advantage or disadvantage to one of starting with one of these: https://themachetestore.com/products/gavilan-machete-12-inch/ It has a saw back, bottle opener, and twine cutter(?). Or there's this one that looks a bit thicker. But no measurement given....

Re: The best Machete setup I've ever seen!

The guy's name over on BCUSA is "Pict." Here is one thread with him in it. He is the OP. SOME BACKGROUND: Pict spent a lot of years as a missionary in Brazil and worked in the most remote areas. He did a lot of living off the land. He also won that "Alone" survival series. Season 2, I believe. http:...

Wow. That video should be its own post. Ill post it if you dont. I suddenly need a machete like never before.
Did I not post it right? Please go ahead. I'm pretty impressed with machetes too. Especially after his video. I believe he is known as Pict over on BCUSA.

I like this guy's vids. Here he basically makes that same tool, but in a much cheaper and maybe more useful package. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVHeKNbRXgc He is also one of the winders of the Alone TV series. I have not watched the episodes, but I"ve followed him on forums and YT for a while.

And, allowing for the restriction on politics at this forum, thank you for being secular and well-mannered by not saying what you mean to say in this non-polemology on Baltimore. This is a forum after all; groupthink is king and must be completely devoid of the pervasively computerized binary zeroe...

Ok. So let's get your question answered. Where did you come from? That will help us talk about what you might need. Knowing your profession might help too. I don't know. Iowa can have temps in the winter down to -30F or sometimes -60F. This is with windchill, though I've been there when it was -20F ...

Re: Firearms Chat 5: #pewpewlife

It could be because they are cheaper guns people leave them in their vehicles? Often unlocked. That is a sure a way as any to conduct a transfer to a prohibited person that I know. Very true... Criminals out here still like HiPoints. At least that's what the news shows unless they are throwing in s...

Didn't you used to get a pistol case, a kydex holster, a double mag kydex holster and 3 mags when you bought an XD? But wait there's more. You get a backstrap safety. :(

XD LOL ;P
In 1911s it's called a "feature." Wilson Combat charges big bucks for those.

The short barrel XD seems to be displacing the HiPoint as thug gun of choice. I am not sure why. They easily cost more than twice as much as a HiPoint.
I read the same thing about the SCCY pistols. I don't know.

Question: WHY IS THE SPRINGFIELD XD THE NICKELBACK OF FIREARMS? I see everywhere online that everyone is trashing the XD. Not just for SA's terrible marketing and business decisions or the "gripzone" stuff.. ...but it seems like everyone is saying they are junk and fail all the time and it's like e...

I laughed hard enough I pooped myself. Good thing I was in a convenient place for that.

Anyway, I just cycled the action vigerously for about 3 minutes. The guy behind the counter gave me a weird look. Not the first time though.

Re: The Return Of The Ruger Police Carbine; The PC9

Been thinking about this rifle a lot lately as a fun range, smallish game hunting, defense, bug-out, truck gun. I'm really thinking of something it can't do in some form or another at least half decently... besides shoot 200 yards and up accurately. Hunting moose. Shooting skeet. Easily shooting bi...

There are a lot of people at the bottom who treat others as expendable resources too. And good people at the bottom. Just as there are at the top. I don't know about good people at the bottom. I deal with the people at the bottom every single day and good ones seem to be few and far between. Unless...

The discussion of how to prepare and the impact of such events is ok. Posting the politics of it is not. So, what's disaster(s)? Riots, disorder, breakdown of public services? I'm kind of seeing a bit of a list here.... Probable vs Possible. Just my thoughts: probable/possible/likely are usually fi...

Quick review of Rio Low Recoil shot and slugs: I like Rio Low Recoil shot. But I like Fiocchi better. Rio worked good enough. They patterned decently. I think better than the Fiocchi by an inch or two at 10 yards. But that is shotgun specific. I think the Fiocchi is a little softer recoiling though....

Re: Easy Foods for Weight Gain

I finally hit and maintained 150 lbs for a couple months! I had to start exercising my legs in addition to my upper body. I have actually reduced my upper body workout due to time and some injuries from pushing too hard too fast (not young anymore). But making a point to eat a bit extra and exercisi...
