Re: Firearms Chat: Yeet Cannon 2 Electric Boogaloo

Some of the best info I have seen on hog hunting ammo, and I feel good hog rounds are good self defense rounds.

Re: Will Prepping Get a Second Wind in 2020?

The difference for me between forums and youtube is the comments. On a forum you can see things get vetted. Opinions and recommendations. And you can tie those to members with high post counts. That lead to some legitimacy to the post. Not to mention asshats get bumped from forums. Not the case wit...

Re: Will Prepping Get a Second Wind in 2020?

I for one would be really sad if this forum died. I was late to the party to start with and have really enjoyed this place. Woods Walker dieing has really brought it home to me that we all need to chip in a little more in order to keep this thing going. I, for one, have been looking for opportuniti...

Re: Stay in city or attempt the wilderness?

As I"m thinking things through, I"m hitting some walls. 1) There is some degeneration of "liberals" here, and the way I'm hearing it is they are equivalent to "community oriented" and "unprepared goofs." On this forum there are a number of people who are "liberal" and a number who are "conservative....

Re: Stay in city or attempt the wilderness?

I'll try to put more thought into this later, but I think heading for the hills and hanging out with the successful tree dwellers would work out, until it doesn't. At which point you head out. Basically, I'd want to be as deep as possible up in the hills on one of those streams and if the campers ca...

Re: Non-profit Security team advice/questions?

I got to go to a regional church security conference today. Different faiths were invited, but only Christians showed up. One theme which came up at this conference and the other conference I attended was the need to deal with gaps in the Continuum of Force. Specifically, most security teams have "c...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

There have been a number of thefts of large quantities of explosives lately and it making law enforcement nervous. This is too bad. Is there any ability to share whether military or civilian explosives? I'm just vulgerly curious. No real prepping reason. I don't expect the source of explosives woul...

Hi there! We enjoyed having people with self-sufficient life-style. Welcome to the forum!

So, please tell us, what got you into prepping? And what do you currently prep for? Do you currently have a self-sufficient living plot? Or are you working towards that?

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

I don't think we will ever see a civil-war in our lifetime in this country. And my reason is quite simple: Air conditioning. I think you have some good arguments. However, one does not need to destroy air conditioning or cellular access to prosecute a civil war. One only needs people willing to lea...

This also depends on how you define "prepping." Natural disaster? Man made disaster? War? Long slow financial collapse? Long slow environmental collapse? Fast environmental collapse? Fast financial collapse? Job loss? Aliens from space? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the sewers? Car accident? Hunti...

Yeah, she has some kick. Plus ammo is about 3 bucks a round. However, it hits with around 4000 pounds of energy.
For those days you need to stop a truck in it's tracks ;)

I have a friend who loves his .375. He loves the kick and boom.

My USMC RATs. I figure they have 12-18 months of daily use left in the soles. They are fairly tough. Definitely the toughest of what I have left after an explosion of mould killed a bunch of my gear.

Just out of curiosity, how stable was the folding butt plate deal on those stocks ? Like did they have a tendency to fold under recoil or did they lock in place to prevent that ? I don't know what other's experiences are. A friend has had one for about 35 years and never had a problem with it. They...

Re: Choosing a rifle for a small frame deer hunter

It was mentioned that a lot of deer rifles (Savage, Howa, etc) don't come with iron sights, and a scope can be added. For the price of a decent scope (or less, depending on what one considers a "decent" scope), a gunsmith can add iron sights, if irons are desired. A point you could have gone into re...
