Not to mention that the Power Tank writes a lot more smoothly than the Fisher Space Pen. The Power Tank is my current EDC pen.drop bear wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2019 4:40 amI use the uniball power tank. Just in case I have to write in space.
I am not sure how rugged a pen has to be to shank someone.

Carry moleskin and apply it at the first sign of a hot spot. It will stop a blister from forming and deaden the pain.

There are a lot of modders in r/flashlight and they're a pretty friendly bunch. They can probably help you out or point you in the right direction.

Re: Prepped to spend the night at airport?
I don't fly much anymore. When I do, I include spare socks, undies, bra, and basic hygiene supplies in my carry-on. Defense Soap peppermint wipes are great for freshening up when a shower is not available, so next time I fly I'll toss some in a ziploc and bring them as well. I also bring a few Clif ...

Unless you are immunocompromised or a fetus, all T. gondii will do is give you flu symptoms. Stop trying to spread panic.

I've worn glasses since I was a teenager. Polycarbonate lenses and a retention strap have always been good enough for me. I use Cocoons over-Rx sunglasses, which are also nearly indestructible.

This is a really small thing, but I'll post it anyway. In my semi-conscious, pre-coffee state this morning, I managed to get maple syrup not only all over the barrel and clip, but inside the click mechanism of my Zebra F-701 pen. After coffee and contemplation, I used alcohol wipes to clean up the o...

About that time, said staffer comes head first out the window swinging a scimitar of the crappy chrome variety of blade you find for $5 at the low-rent government surplus stores. The driver of the car was as baffled by this action as I was and he decided to nope the fuck out of there. A friend of m...

Take a look at the Thrunite TH20. I replaced my Black Diamond Storm with one of these. It will run on either a 14500 Li-ion or a single AA.

Re: Anybody else have an AMC Eagle?
I had an AMC Eagle. I bought it for $50 in the mid-90s. It needed a new muffler right away. About a year later I had to replace the heater core and the radiator. Kept it for another year or two and then one night it spat all its transmission fluid onto the road and never moved under its own power ag...

If you have municipal tap water, you can store it in clean glass or plastic containers for up to six months. Clean 2-liter pop bottles with new lids are pretty good containers.

Did you see that doc? I think it was Vice. About the guy that stockpiles Tesla parts and rebuilds and fixes them? Tesla has a real hard time sharing info with mechanics. They want only their dealerships to work on their cars. There's an antiquated idea huh?! lol! Tesla doesn't have dealerships. How...

Re: Before You Get Out of Your Car
The Five Rules of Taxi Driving, as taught to me by my trainer many years ago, also have some application in the non-cab world: Know where you are. Know where you are going. Now that we have GPS and Google Maps, there is no excuse not to look up where you're going before you set out. (It was paper ma...

His vehicle and most of his police gear are also anachronisms. I try not to let it get in the way of the show. I'm not good at identifying model years just by looking at vehicles, but I know that there were Chevy Blazers that looked pretty much like Hopper's in 1982-1984. What about the rest of his...

It wouldn't even have to be a terribly complicated trap. Dig a big pit. Set up your boom box. Go check every few days and bring a few gallons of diesel to set them on fire, which will eventually kill them and keep them from piling up so much that new ones can climb out.

Re: Stranger Things 1 and 2
I love both seasons. Two things bother me. 1. Barb got a raw deal. I will avoid posting spoilers, but I'm happy to discuss it via PM. 2. Chief Hopper's knife is an anachronism. There were no half-serrated folders with thumb studs in the early 1980s. He should have a Buck 110 or maybe a SAK or Barlow.
