Re: New smoker

Father in law made the same choice, went with the pit boss over the green egg. You may need to look into a dispersion plate (I think that is what it is called?). He was having some heat issue somewhere back and the dispersion plate fixed it. Edit to add: check the alignment on the lid. Pit boss was ...

Thanks for the discussion on the folding stock. I was trying to figure out a way to use a back pack for storage too and from the range and a folding stock looked to be an interesting way to go

Re: 2017 The year to prep!

I agree I have been replenishing my soon to expire stuff a year early. I normally do this each year in January but the sales have caught my eye also. So 2018 and 2019 expiration items are being replaced. Anyone see any sales on FAK items? I would think January would be a good time to buy FAK items....

Re: How does your garden grow? 2016 edition

Rhubarb leaves are supposedly poisonous, but I'm guessing a person would have to eat a lot of them to get sick. Most of us kids ate rhubarb leaves growing up on a dare, and nobody got sick. I don't remember ever seeing one of the dogs take a bite out of the leaves, and even our goats seem to leave ...

Re: How does your garden grow? 2016 edition

I've always been interested in growing potatoes vertically. I personally don't eat enough of them to justify growing them. I started zucchini. Should be an easy plant to grow. I picked up another tomato start and a jalapeño start at the hardware store.... This is why I can't go shopping alone... Pur...

Re: How does your garden grow? 2016 edition

Installed a new raised bed last weekend. Will pick up dirt for it this weekend. Seeds are started for beets, lettuce, kale, carrots, and cucumber. Snap peas, watermelon, and pumpkin seeds are already in the ground. Planted my tomato and sweet pepper starts last weekend. This is my first major attemp...

Re: How Does Your Garden Grow? 2015 edition

First year with a yard (less than 1000sqft total) here in suburbia, but I put all my seeds in a planter tray, expect sprouts to pop up in about a week or two; then move the planting tray in the sun! Will be doing about a 6ft by 8ft square planted garden, with tomato plants placed around the yard. Wi...

Re: The Official ZS DEBTSQUAD: BODY COUNT thread.

Okay, this seems like an appropriate thread to ask for advice on this. My financial situation has drastically improved recently, and I currently have very little debt in relation to my income. All credit cards are paid off, minus a $400 balance on an $8000 card, which I am not concerned about. My o...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Got a wicked cold and stayed home from work...

Season 3 TWD was on demand. Problem of nothing to do while relaxing solved. Marathon.

Got tired of having to fast forward through the same season 4 trailer.

Bring on season 4!

I always wore atlas gloves in construction. Dry quickly, good dexterity, lost them before I wore them out, and cheap.

Re: High Ground: House of Adair

I see a lot of page views adding up today. Very few responses. I wonder if people are trying to read ahead of my deletions, or are too kind to reflect publicly on my recent additions. Readers may notice that a huge chunk of the novel has been removed from the thread. It may be that with so much of ...

I'm not normally one to be hung up on numbers... But Anya said they would send 135 raiders. Nick just addressed 37 men. It is getting confusing, isn't it? Boggs is leading the rest of the raiders up the other road that splits from the highway at Garnet Bend. Since it's less direct, Nick f...

Necro'd... Love this recipe. Needed the tag. Made a couple batches previously and I think I need more flour to eliminate the problems I am having (too loose). Tried putting garlic cloves on the top of the bread, will post results later. Also trying a loaf in a loaf pan. Curious how it will turn out....

I appreciated the prefacing of your dialogue in the video.

I understood your interview with the officer and HIS responses to YOUR neighborhood.

Left with no allusion that it was a one-size fits all response. I have not watched the second video

Well the thing is the way they're going about saying that sites in the US can't host (host, NOT just linking it which is apparently legal) is because of the ITAR treaty. That site's in NZ. Not exactly subject to listening to the US State Dept. There was an article on Forbes http://www.forbes.com/si...
