Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

TB is on a roll :)   my ears are still ringing from when I shot 20 rounds of 3006 with poor ear protection 20 years ago. I read an article on TWD and it mentioned that the characters would all be deaf by now with all the shooting. Now I always double up with plugs and ear muffs at...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

love the story. the absence of more story has got me hoping for the actual zombie apocalypse. i know i will regret it when i feel ragged, rotten zombie teeth slicing open my stomach, but at the moment, that seems a small price to pay for admission into TB's PAW.

Re: Wood fired boiler?

anyone tried this? Rocket stove based, which heats up a water mass. Cold water is run through the mass and then becomes hot. Whats neat is the small burn chamber, and corresponding tiny amount of fuel that it uses.

Re: An Unwelcome Development

I know it's not as fun as the story. but the muse this week turned my head towards more practical and timely writing. My latest article was just picked up by The Gun Writer Blog. It's survival oriented, so you might find it interesting and useful. http://thegunwriter.blogs.heraldtribune.com/19910/b...

Re: The Dead at Destitute Mountain

Thanks TB for great update. I need these stories to keep me motivated on building out my bol. Each bang of my nail gun is a zombie headshot each driven screw is a stab to the rotting zombie face. Funny thing is im currently hauling 124 pound deep cycle batteries up a hill. Hope mundy watches out for...

Re: No Home

Nice update. An outbreak in the uk sounds kinda scary with the best weapons being table legs! At least they are quiet. Interesting you all split up with no comms. At least this way lone rescuers will make less noise.

Re: An Unwelcome Development

Because the real nat guard is this differnt group. Looks like the nat guard split up and the male ng splinter group without a base is looking to take thepalestines. A new strategy might be to zed to form an alliance with the female nat guard group. Im guessing the palestines dont want that for some ...

Re: Dressing up as a zombie?

The hard part is smelling like a zombie. We're not talking skipping showering for a week, more like blending up some zombies in a mega meat grinder and jumping into the soup. (Close your eyes and hold your nose) Its been done on zombie flicks with varying degrees of success. Make sure you have no cu...

Wait a sec ... eotw is next week? Theres gonna be a lot of dissapointed people prepping and now sounds like no zombies coming after all. And what about zombies didnt anyone consult them? Seems pretty unfair that they arent even given the chance to wreck havoc. Zombies are people too ... well sort of...

Hi ZP, Really enjoyed your postings. I was wondering about all your efforts spent on the butterflies, and wondered what your opinion was on praying mantis? Are they a viable alternative? keep the updates coming. Hopefully I will be preparing my hugelkultures this fall, and I hope to have an army of ...

Can they put it in sunscreen? apply at the beach then it should block out the rays and you can surf all day outside on your ipad. I have a couple of ideas on socket location and other devices it could power come to think of it. ;)

Re: An Unwelcome Development

Good solid questions that need to be answered. If you were in Zed's place, in your own neighborhood and surroundings, what actions would you take? I live in the burbs of Vancouver, BC. Bugging in, not an option. Im pretty sure this whole area would have a 99% death rate in the first month of shtf. ...

zgf, I've been enjoying your 2 novels over the last 6 months. Always great to read. And lots of practical useful tips. You should run a combat school! And you should publish!! :) I wonder, now the external threats are more or less eliminated, perhaps more mundane, but still dangerous threats to the ...

Re: Five-round semi or ten-round bolty?

maybe not relevant, but in canada a semi auto center fire rifle mag limit is 5 but an exception is the garand where you are allowed 8. I would choose that one.
