Agreed. It's a bit grainy, but the mag release appears to be horizontal, indicating a rubber duck. Was thinking it might be Airsoft, but those are usually correct, iirc.

On "The Simpsons", you hear Moe racking a pump shotgun, then they show him with a double barrel coach gun.

Trying to envision a "tactical mag swap", or changing magazines under stress. Looks like it'd be a pain in the butt under ideal conditions. Also require gargantuan new mag pouches. Yikes.

I like being able to see my 5.56 bullet holes at 100 yds without a separate spotter scope, okay?

Granted, with an NcStar, they'd likely be rather blurry.

Re: What are YOU currently lusting after? (firearms related)

Saw an AMT 1911 Hardballer at the LGS. WANT. Did a quick Google search-don't want it anymore, at least at the asking price. Some other nice 1911s there for not much more, probably use part of my tax refund on one. I'm thinking stainless, maybe a 9mm with the 22TCM conversion kit. Don't blame you......

Re: firearm accessories that you want that are not on the ma

An optic mount for pistols that clamps onto the foreend rail, wraps around top, and provides a picatinny rail up top to mount a scope or RDS. I should add the qualifiers "decent quality" and "reasonably priced". I picked up a couple from Keepshooting.com for $20 each, and for that price I can't comp...

Re: firearm accessories that you want that are not on the ma

I'd like to see a AR-15 dust cover that closes after each shot. I don't think it'd be to difficult. Remove the detent and add a spring that holds the cover shut. You'd still need a bump that the carrier would knock into to open. I believe I'm going to ponder this a minute. Remove the detent ball an...

Couple of threads about these in the Retro AR15/M16 section of AR15.com. They might be able to lead you in the correct direction, and the retro section is usually more civil than General Discussion.

Re: New Ruger Mini in .300blk

Well, it starts with thinking about getting a Mini14 in 300BLK, and that lasts until you realize how much more versatile an AR is. That's what I say. If it isn't an AR15 or a Glock, then I don't need it. I'm part of the Neighborhood Tactical Response Force (we meet at the local fire hall for traini...

Re: New Ruger Mini in .300blk

Almost like a sign... I just bought a box of 300 Blackout, mostly as a collector item from a small ammunition company that I like. But if Ruger could get their pricing structure in line, I might have to snag a Mini and order more ammo. Yeah, the chances of that are pretty much nil. Guess I'll keep w...

Re: Shotgun barrels, mag capacity, and the Maverick 88.

Around here, there seems to be a limitless supply of used Maverick 88's in the $125-$165 range. You could spend that much on a decent budget red dot sight.

60 rounds of M196 tracer ammo, and a SlideFire stock. Ought to be a fun 4th.

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Well, right. I was hoping that context would make the sarcasm obvious, without having to put up a big warning flag notifying people that "OMG, this might not be taken completely on face value!" If the 42 weren't a viable product on its own, why even bother to release it? Why not jump straight to the...

If it hasn't gone at least half a decade without a post, it isn't really necro'd, IMO.

I hadn't dealt much with the "thumbs high" discipline of pistol manipulation, but as a general rule I try to keep my fingers away from the moving bits on machinery I'm operating.

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Bullshit bullshit. I was calling into question the validity of the claims that the 42 was released before the 43 simply because they wouldn't sell any 42s if a 9mm alternative were available. I wasn't aware that the Glock 42 production line uses equipment that can only produce Glock 42 parts, and ca...

Re: Slide release vs overhand rack WITH A HUGE SLIDE RELEASE

For personal proteciton it is best to practice using gross motor skills, vs using a fin motor skill like using a slide stop! Common people the proper name is "SLIDE STOP" not a slide release. Well, if we're going to get technical, I believe you mean "Come on, people,...", rather than "Common...

Re: AR-15 vs AR-10?

In my opinion the AR 15 would be the better choice as it fires semi auto which conserves ammo, and is more accurate Unfortunately, in America today, the AR10 would be semi-auto only, too. Unless maybe he's an SOT. edit: If he's still going the 80% route, that is. I'm sure there are a few full-auto ...
