New elk hunter with some questions
So I'm in central Utah, looking for a spike. I'm not much of a hunter, and my buddy that bought the tag, bought otc on a whim, kind of, isn't an elk hunter. So for the last week we'very gone out when possible, before sun up and then late afternoon til dark. We'very seen a ton of poop, old and very f...

Re: Shotgun for HD and BO, you dont feel out-gunned?
Some very good points. First off I don't buy the statement "...chances are that if you needed that shotgun (in a emergency/disaster situation/civil unrest, where you are in or threatened with a gun fight) you will likely be facing an AR or similar rifle" I know lots of people that own guns and I thi...

Shotgun for HD and BO, you dont feel out-gunned?
I see that many people advocate for a shotgun as your one HD and bug out gun, because of the versatility. Which is a very valid point. But with the proliferation of the AR, chances are that if you needed that shotgun (in a emergency/disaster situation/civil unrest, where you are in or threatened wit...

Re: Ok, I need help with AR gas system lengths.
Well its not so much that im worried about recoil in the sense that its violent or anything, but I figure if I can get the recoil down as low as possible for quick follow ups shots, staying on target etc, why wouldn't I?

Ok, I need help with AR gas system lengths.
Ive been reading for a week, and to say Im overwhelmed is an understatement lol. Im wanting to build or buy an AR. After shopping around to price out my ideal rifle its pushing $1000, which is more than I want to spend. Granted it would be one bad A rifle. My real end goal was a lightweight, 16 inch...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
Im having a hard time finding a barrel, this is my first build.
I want a 16in midlength with a .625 profile the whole way but I cant seem to find it.
This whole trying to decide on parts and crap is exhausting

Re: Mossberg MVP - Anybody got one
He said .223 or .308 so the caliber argument already ongoing is stupid. My problem with the MVP, is while the AR mags are cool, what is the real point? Course maybe I just answered my own question, I don't really see it being worth the money just for the detachable mag perk, but how many other bolt ...

Re: Never sell a gun
I highly regret selling the inheritance that I got which included a 1942 luger matching numbers including a ww1 mag among others, ammo from the 40s and an 0707 serial number. my birthday is 0707   and a sig, colt sp1, 44 mag and some gorgeous rem 700s. But when you have to feed the family,...

I actually just got my first bow ever today, shooting it was a lot more fun than I expected. Im also probably going to get a pellet rifle, just for some trigger time. ...

Supposedly an error by the photographer. I think its pretty funny, a lot of people think its some humor in relation to how reliable they are. "our guns will run no matter what"

So if more movement means the ability to soak up recoil, which means more accuracy...
Why are bolt actions, for the most part, more accurate than semi auto or full auto rifles?

Well see if youre not a total grumpy pants, you can appreciate the humor, ribbing, sarcasm etc etc. I thought I showed plenty of that in my first post Ha, compare an Austrian and a German together, face to face and see what happens. And VW doesn't really compare to BMW so.... Quit grasping at straws...

Re: So while watching Top Shot, I figured out why HK is best
Its the German mentality. Being German, I don't mind, and many others don't. Its like BMW, they are the best at what they do and they know it. You can like it and buy it or not, they don't care lol. I really don't want this turning into a brand war, I was hoping for more discussion on the physics of...

So while watching Top Shot, I figured out why HK is best :)
So take this for what its worth as a late night rambling. But in all seriousness, Im watching Top Shot season 3 (loving the self taught Christian kid DESTROYING the pros) and Im shocked to see how much the SW MP40 flexes while firing. Which gets me thinking, do all poly pistols do this? Skip to seas...

Re: Can you get 13 rounds out of a SR9Cs 10 round mag?
It would definitely take some modifying. I think there would be enough room though, a PX4 compact and other compacts of the same size carry 13. So the magazine wouldn't be any larger physically, Im just wondering if there is something that could be ground down or whatever.

Can you get 13 rounds out of a SR9Cs 10 round mag?
So I really like the SR9C and would love to carry it, but the ten round mag thing really kills it for me, among other things.....that shall not be mentioned Ive looked around and couldn't find anything. Does anyone make higher capacity or can a 10 round mag be modified? And yes I know it comes with ...

Re: possible purchase of SKS, have questions
Sounds like a lot of ignorant comments going on here. Do NOT add a buffer, it will eventually break apart The Tapco stocks are VERY front heavy, I did not like mine and sold it. Tapco magazines ARE reliable Do NOT get a railed handguard for optics, take it apart once and you will see why. Stability ...
