All Things Salt

I'm looking to up my salt game. Besides being a mineral that we require, it also makes things taste good! That's kind of important when food may taste like garbage in a SHTF/PAW world. I asked on one of my FB groups prior to posting here and one of the ladies gave me this reply when I said "what kin...

Re: Wuuut! Tactical Crossbow

Haven't been here in a while but I am happy to see you like the "Adder" I designed together with Ek Archery. It is based on the RX platform but sports a magazine, allowing very quick follow-up shots. This is the crossbow that I was looking for all those years. - High rate of fire - Easy to cock . W...

Re: Seattle is Dying

My handle here is "norcalprep", but I've moved to the East Coast over two years ago. Since moving here, I've met so many people gleeful to make homelessness a west coast problem, including a current sheriff in a West Virginia town bragging how cheap a one way ticket is for his community. Certainly ...

Re: Seattle is Dying

Not saying anything against your experiences but, when it comes to buses that are part of a fleet (rentals, leasing, etc.) the plates are usually from where the company has their corporate HQ and not from where the vehicle might actually be used. U-Haul trucks are good examples of this. I agree, th...

Re: Seattle is Dying

That is absolutely true. But I’ll guarantee you go talk to the homeless there, over half have been shipped up from out of state and another 10% shipped from within the state. I lived in the ID/Chinatown district not far from a few homeless shelters and assistance places. I saw busses with Nevada, Or...

Re: Seattle is Dying

As someone who lives here the states they used are for the “Seattle area” not Seattle it goes as far south as 16 miles both and south of Seattle. To cities like SeaTac, tukilia, federal way, Everett, etc. The “news” group that produced this is known for having manditory fluff prices that apeal to th...

Re: Halfapint's Getting Some Land

Bought a wind turbine today. It’s a home made PMA, it’s ugly but don’t care, the blades were actually purchased from Missouri wind and solar. Came with two sets, and they would have given the others but they were damaged when it fell. Nothing fancy, the guy estimated 800w which is just fine for me t...

Re: Halfapint's Getting Some Land

Did you do a right/left swap with the rear wheels when you reinstalled them? It looks like the tread is going the wrong way. Damn! Good eyes! Yes, I did swap them. I wanted to see if it actually made a difference. So far I seem to have a lot more traction with them backwards. I'm looking for a larg...

Re: HBO's Chernobyl

It was amazing, learned a little bit I hadn't read about before. The ending was absolutely amazing with him giving his speech in the courtroom, gave me chills. Me to. Especially his red/blue card explanation kind of helped with the why/how. But that is one theory they presented, there are others. B...

No guarantee when we will upload videos. We are looking at software to edit. This video takes place after I set up and already shook the bees into the hive.

Re: Halfapint's Getting Some Land

Just another update. The gf has been out on medical. She got hurt on the job and has been out for a month or so now, with st least another month out. I only got to spend a few hours up at the property this weeks. I measured the trailer that I’m going to turn into a dump trailer to see how long I wan...

Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

I really wanted one it was just bulky and not exactly ergonomic for me. But seeing some of the aftermarket stuff posted here makes me wonder if that might be different. Then again why buy the PC9 when I can just build an AR9. No poltics intended here but WA is about to get real stupid when it comes ...

Re: Southern California Earthquake Swarm Takes Unexpected Turn

I don't think I expressed myself well. The smaller quakes aren't relieving tension, they're indicators that tension isn't building up. When those smaller quakes taper off is when I see the potential for tension to build. It's the old, "It's quiet... too quiet" bit just before the attack. Gotcha, ye...

Re: Southern California Earthquake Swarm Takes Unexpected Turn

We’ve been having the same thing happen up here in WA. Lots of mini quakes. Unfortunately we still know only about 2% of earthquakes. NT2C you’re analogy isn’t partially good. The big flakes still cause your scraper to get hung up and needs more force to break free. Those little ones don’t release t...

So I found some sig braces that were really cheap $30 or something. I read to see what the issue was and they were previously pink. I read on and it said these were professionally dyed and range in color from “charcoal to true black” well I recieved them and......... Purple.... not only purple, but...

Went to check the hives yesterday after work. We've been having issues with hive 1 and 2. I checked hive one (left front hive) the last time we did an inspection we did not see any queen or queen sign, yesterday I looked in and we had eggs (0-3 days old) and larva (4-10 days old). So we must have ha...

Cool. So you just leave the combs with honey and brood alone, and decap the honey-only ones? Yes, here in the PNW we have long wintered, not cold, just looooong. So the bottom two boxes will always bee for brood and honey. They will build it like the pictures above with the honey around the outside...
