Re: KHHI Scourge testing!

UPDATE We've made so many of these scourge kukris in the last year including so many awesome variations and customs. The last one I posted was the anniversary redesign because it was a bit of a milestone for the knife and this forum and thread is really where it all began. This new milestone is one ...

Re: My KHHI "Scourge" Khukuri Arrived!

Updates on this blade for anyone that's interested: I stopped working with KHHI a long time ago due to sliding quality standards and poor business practices and helped some of the old employees start up a new company called Kailash Blades. It's been going for almost 2 years now and it a pretty great...

Re: KHHI Scourge testing!

Updates on this blade for anyone that's interested: Kailash blades is almost 2 years old now and we've been improving slowly but surely. Some of the things are introducing new materials like stacked leather or making our own micarta, where other things are more subtle, like redesigning older designs...

Re: Forging a titanium machete

Hahaha that power hammer is adorable! I like the shape too, just a flat bar that is curved through the bevelling process. Some say lazy, I say minimalist.

Re: KHHI Scourge testing!

Hey guys! An update on what's happened with the scourge in the last few years for those who were there when it was first made or for those who have just come across the design recently. The design has been an enormous success! For almost six months it outsold all of khhi's other knives put together....

Re: COMPLETED KHHI ZOMBIE KHUKURI!

The back edge is a tricky one for me at the moment. There's currently an option to leave it unsharpened but even then the false edge is a pain to baton with. It still goes through the wood no worries but you're clearly losing a lot of energy into cutting into the baton. I think currently the design ...

Re: COMPLETED KHHI ZOMBIE KHUKURI!

Haha yeah I'm pretty certain it could take out a zombie even if you used the back of the knife. It's a good point about weight, though the balance can easily be restored with a change to the tapering or the weight could even be brought back with a spine thickness increase. The tradeoff between split...

Re: COMPLETED KHHI ZOMBIE KHUKURI!

Hey Gold, thanks for that review it was really, really solid! It's always valuable to hear about the real world use that other people can get up to so I can take it into account in future, especially your comments on cutting frozen trees as it's something I would have no chance of being able to do i...

God daaaaammmnnn
That's a nice looking blade right there. On the socket vs slab handle thing, sockets are definitely your trademark, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of variety, especially when it looks that good.

Absolutely gorgeous. The little recurved flick near the handle reminds me of eldar swords from warhammer40k.

Re: COMPLETED KHHI ZOMBIE KHUKURI!

No worries about the necro. As far as the micarta goes, it didn't pan out. However while in Nepal I passed on the skills to make kydex sheaths to one of the kamis so if you email KHHI they might be able to do it for you. Alternatively they might not be able to to do it because they're not happy with...

Absolutely stunning. Just showed it to my housemate and he said it was "rig as f*@k" haha
That's the highest honour he will bestow upon something, you should be very proud. Great work though, I really love teh contrast of high tech sheath and primal blade.

Re: The $7 faux-seax. A work in progress.

Nice work! You should keep in mind though, that the angle of the broken back does not purely determine piercing ability/point durability. It also functions as a means of controlling balance point by having less material near the edge for a given length, so if you wanted to go really light in the han...

Re: Farson Blade - new hand axe

That's nuts. My initial reaction is that the inclusion of these finer threaded parts might compromise durability somewhat, but It looks like it hold up pretty well in the 2 kickstarter videos so who knows? Very interesting though, thatnks for sharing.

Very cool. I can imagine how that gun could be adapted into a rubber powered Captive Bolt Pistol.

Re: Farson Blade - new hand axe

Not a fan. I haven't used one, but the issue I see in marketing as a "hand axe" is that in terms of geometry it's nothing like an axe. Judging by the grind and steel thickness I imagine it would behave in wood in a similar manner to a machete, with high amounts of binding due to the minimal grind an...
