Re: Tacticool pump shotty - box mag vs dual tube?

Necro-ing my thread because I found out both Remington and Mossberg are making box mag pumps.

Re: Traps

How about hanging lots of wind chimes from the high diving board of a swimming pool?
The pool design would have to be one where zombie that fall in won't be able to walk/climb out.

A Quiet Place

I probably won't see it in theaters, despite the good reviews, but the premise looks interesting. Blind monsters that hunt by sound have decimated the human race. The family of main characters had an advantage that the daughter's deafness meant they already knew sign language. http://www.youtube.com...

IGN GOT IT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfr5qhtovqo A van?!?! heck, yeah. Nice to see some use of noisemakers/distraction devices. I don't know why everyone on youtube and twitch just dismisses them. Did I just read "Act like a zombie" for her options? Plague Hearts? Seems to be a new mechanic for...

Re: So you are a hobbit enlisted in a war band, weapons?

Honestly, that could work. I mean aiming would be hard and you'd probably only get one chance but possibly you could out range all the other enemies as they could not duplicate your technique and fully extend their legs and lock their knees. I award you 300 cool points for this idea. :D Well, this ...

Well, this inspired a weird thought.

What if a Hobbit took an elf longbow and used it lying down?

Jungletown on Vice Network

Saw an ad for this last night: In the depths of the Panamanian jungle an American entrepreneur and hundreds of young people are building the "world's most sustainable modern town." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKYXTqhrKK8 Well, it's a nice, interesting concept. I'm worried about manufactured drama...

It's on Showtime OnDemand, if you have that.

I found it decent. The black & white thing was odd, though.

Tacticool pump shotty - box mag vs dual tube?

This was brought up in the "22 detachable magazine vs. tube magazine" thread, but no one ever followed through. So I thought I'd make a poll. Mostly for fun, ok? This isn't a "what should I buy" thread. When it comes to shotguns that can load over 10, or reload 5 in a few seconds, what would you pre...

Agreeing with the principles of " a sword is secondary to a spear" and "go with what you know/train with" means I picked the jian as long as I also get a qiang spear. http://www.kungfudirect.com/images/IMG_1106(3).jpg http://www.kungfudirect.com/images/IMG_1092(2).jpg (not me) I suppose I should've ...

Re: 10 Cloverfield Lane Discussion SPOILER ALERT!

I rewatched the 2008 Cloverfield before viewing this-- two films exist in same universe but contain unique stories told in different ways. Saw an interview where Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the lead actress, says it's not a technical sequel. Other sources discuss how at first it was an original script...

Anyone else catch season 3 premiere last night?

I don't think it bodes well that the CW stalled it to midseason and still won't give up to 20 episodes.

New Year's Eve solar flare?

http://abc7ne.ws/1OrRK1B

"A massive solar eruption that’s going to hit Earth just before New Year’s Eve is expected to cause power fluctuations and radio blackouts. There’s also a small chance it could make the Northern Lights visible in the Bay Area."

I'm not too worried. Should I be?

"Colony" on USA Network

Coming soon to basic cable, a series about Los Angeles under alien occupation. It seems to be mainly focused on one character and his wife as they decide whether to resist or collaborate for their kids' sake. And yeah, that's Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxglHSaRuKo Hmm...

Re: Young Adult Disaster novels: Rule of Thr3e.

All in all, it was an ok read. I actually am interested in the sequel, but not enough to pay hardcover price. Guess I could try the "Monument 14" trilogy in the meantime. That's actually why I started this. "The 100" turned out to be a surprisingly good show and those teen-in-dystopia-novels-turned-...

Re: Young Adult Disaster novels: Rule of Thr3e.

So I noticed that towards the end of the book, there's a different colored page. Turns out in the appendix, Jim Cobb of DisasterPrepConsultants did an article on GH Bags. So.. that's something. Two thirds through and it's not too bad. To me, the teen angst is minimal, since the kid is so focused on ...
