Re: What was your first pistol?
The first pistol I owned was a Ruger Security Six in .357. I traded my cousin a TV for it and kept it for a year or so. I pawned it when I was real desperate for cash and didn't get it out in time. I got paid on a Friday and went to pick it up but I was 3 days late. They sold it already :-(. On my 2...

Re: the Defensive Shotgun; How we make it work--MilCopp Blog
I agree on all points save one.... Ammo selection. I have seen animals and people shot with 00 buck and still have plenty of fight left in them. I have heard of many such cases also. I have never even heard of anyone hit with a slug COM putting up a struggle and never heard of a person surviving su...

Not my current job but when I was a Correctional Officer for the local small town jail: Also, a funny addition to the previous Maglite stories. I get this call on the radio from dispatch to "Get ready and glove up Mrbeefy, there's a 10-96 (Mental Patient) en route to the station HIV+". Oh great, it'...

Re: Awkard moments or negative responses while using your ED
Just bought an '87 Chevy R10 from a guy on Craigslist. I brought along my trusty wife as back up. She's checkin' out the truck and opens the passenger side door. As it opens we see smoke and I smell the distinct smell of shorted wire. I'm thinking "Oh shit, the wiring harness is FUBAR and it's going...

Re: PVC Sheath for Machete
Check out your local Surplus store. I found a Mil-surp Machete sheath. It's made out of plastic and is marked "1991 Machete". My 18" machete fits in it perfectly. My only gripe was the M1910 wire hanger had little use until I bought an ALICE pack for a BOB

Oh yeah, it's a must have for Natives! I'm the only one to have one though. Dropped the machete, going to use the tomahawk as an improvised axe. Going with the pocket folder, a bowie on my pack and the tomahawk. Two I've gone up in arms over the Sleeping bag though. Not sure I want all that weight o...

Re: Cross County Survival walk
First up I'm jealous, you are doing a hard core 26 mile Bushwhacking adventure. Not a lot of people can do that. Just some suggestions. Don't bring multiple knives and heavy junk. You have a gun, I would pick a small to mid-sized "working knife", a Machete if you think you need it for bushwhacking ...

Just glancing at the map, is that near Keshena? Also, what type of pack did you decide to go with? Yes Keshena is a town at the Southern end of our Reservation. I work at the Casino there. I've decided to use my hunting day pack. I don't know who produces Cabela's packs but that's the brand. I'm go...

it seem to be like a heavier and with more reach version of the one i showed, that would be a powerful weapon, but only youy an hour can tell us,............how many blows can you make with it before you get tired ? Re: Cold Steel Tomahawk Modification
I used my Trailhawk last year to butcher a deer during hunting season. I left the blood on it overnight and the blood stained the handle. I sanded the handle down and painted it with a little olive drab green and flat black "camo". I sanded the epoxy/lacquer off of the head. The cord wrap has been t...

The day is almost at hand ! 42 days to go. I've been training with my pack and realized Vietnam era surplus wasn't designed for comfort. Late in the game to be changing packs but I gotta do it.

Re: Shopping mall bought SS Katana hacked to peices !!
If my first post was snarky, I apologize. In all fairness, though, the thread title lead me to believe I would see someone destroying a shitty sword with some non-shitty bladed implement. So I was feeling betrayed. I took it all in fun. I do think a quality carbon blade probably chop through the so...

I was considering sanding off that (looks like) acid etched crapola. I doubt the indochina manufacturer had a laser for etching.Woods Walker wrote:I wonder if the hamon is real.I can think of worst ways to blow a Sunday.

Shopping mall bought SS Katana hacked to peices !!
It's Sunday, I'm hung over and bored. Last fall I took a rare adventure to the shoppng mall to pick up a Tuxedo for a wedding I was a part of. While waiting for my measurements, I picked up a $20 stainless steel display Katana from a food court vendor. I have no sword training and never played with ...

Re: PARROTS (and other pets), During a Zwar
I've considered my pets in a total SHTF scenario, and the outlook is grim. I have a pit bull, and two house cats at the moment, but no birds- ours died. Given that I'm in NY State, it would depend greatly on the time of year, as to a bird's survival, especially any of the tropical breeds, no matter...

I don't think it was intended for anything but decoratiin but it seems pretty sturdy. There's rawhide holding the rock on and I'm guessing lots of glue, the outer wrapping is soft hide but still, a few whacks is better than nothing. I was more giving that one the benefit of the doubt and talking ab...

Re: Check out the shit I oim buying
Airsoft and ninja gear from the same dealer? That was totally unexpected. Most of that stuff isn't my cup of tea but to each their own. As someone who does play airsoft, no self respecting airsofter would buy any of that crap they sell there either. It's just as shitty as everything else on that si...
