Re: How often do you switch up your EDC?

It's all about your frame, holster/bag used, and position of carry. Your frame depends on what handgun you can conceal. My size allows me to carry a full size 1911 well enough. I have a compact version for when clothing worn is limited or when I have to carry at the kidney IWB and a full size for a ...

Re: Cold Steel Trail Hawk?

They are a good buy. You will probably need to work on the edge some. A good medium rasp or file, or preferably a Lansky sharpener puck thing will work better. There are a lot of YouTube videos about modding it. I just used paint remover to strip the paint, sanded and stained the haft, and wrapped t...

Re: Alabama Zombie Squad

Mornin'. I have been a member for a while now and have tried starting a FL panhandle/Bama chapter since '012. There are members in the panhandle but the whole 2 people who responded do not want to commit to being officers. I don't care about being an officer or not or starting my 'own' chapter, I ju...

Re: Good first revolver?

S&W .500? Kidding, a good starter revolver would be a double action model. Caliber is the difficult part. I fell in love with .45 Colt, but after a trade-in I'm starting to like the .357 Magnum. Now I want a .45 Colt...

Re: Need info on Knife blade material from china!

The above posters know what they are talking about. But if you are in need of a knife, I have a few never used to lightly used folders and fixed blades that are properly cared for. So depending on what exactly you are looking for, maybe I could just mail one to you for nothing, just take it off my h...

Re: Mk18 vs soocom 16 EBR

Well Doctorr F and friends made some points. I adjust my 2 cents to say: the SOCOM 16 for everything not indoors. When clearing buildings of walkers and searching for supplies carry buttloads of ninjystars. Those things never over penetrate, you can line them up between your fingers to throw like 20...

Re: Mk18 vs soocom 16 EBR

Teotwaki has a point with volumes of fire vs deliberate aimed fire. I personally would go with the SOCOM 16. It does cost more, is heavier and carry less ammo but the lethality and range are just as important. Over penetration is the only downside in my mind but with the proper ammo and situational ...

Jumpin' on the band wagon: Get one if you can afford it. I owned one and loved it. L O V E D I T!! It was the M1A standard, which is the base model without the bells and whistles but it was still great. Only complaint: the 22-inch barrel was a little much for the urban environs I would be takin' car...

Re: Pistol Crossbow Gun Mount Mod

I am on the fence with this. It could be useful depending on the poundage of the crossbow and how much training with it you do. I see how it may be handy attached to an AR/AK for use during a reload or for a much quieter option if you cannot get a silencer. If your rifle is completely out of ammo it...

Keep it up guys. I am at 225 and working on it. My weight is evenly distributed, so it isn't too hard to work off. Ninja-elbow, thanks for the clothing reference. I haven't put up pictures of my blades yet, but my Cold Steel Natchez Bowie is a great Bowie. Or my grandpa's stag antler handle Bowie, it is a true Bowie too.

I like it but wouldn't get one myself. I think it would be good for a camper or someone who is out in the woods more than me. Then that person would have a handful of tools in one package to cut down on weight and space.

Re: Bolt action for zombies?

I run a Remmy 700 SPS AAC in .300BLK with Badger Ordnance metal floor plate that accepts 10 round magazines on order. And when I have the money I will replace the Nikon Prostaff scope with a Leupold calibrated for super and subsonic loads and get a screw-on AAC silencer. As of now it is great within...
