Re: What long arm and handgun are you using to bug out?

My handgun will be my Springfield Armory XDS 45ACP because of its small size , dependability , stopping power and excellent accuracy. My long arm would be my scoped Ruger 10/22 because of dependability and accuracy. I am choosing a 22 because I am not planning on fighting but on surviving and the 22...

military waterproof bag

I recently purchased a couple of the surplus military waterproof bags and was wondering what the correct procedure is for closing the bag so that it truly is waterproof. Unfortunately the instructions for the correct sealing method was not included with my purchase. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: One Weapon, One Partner, One Theme Song

As for a weapon it would be my mossberg model 500
my partner would be my beautiful wife with her pair of 38's (and i am not talking about her revolvers) :awesome:
my theme song would be Earl Scruggs playing the foggy mountain breakdown

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

Went a little crazy today , traded my ruger p90dc 45 acp for a springfield armory model XDS 45 acp. Love this new gun , is a sub-compact 3.3 inch barrel with a 6 shot capacity. Came with a paddle holster , twin magazine case and a storage case. Gun shoots excellently with a point of aim point of imp...

Also bought 12 MRE entrees , 2 small tins of peanut butter , a couple of cans of sardines and a few more packs of ramen noodles , I know not a lot of food yet but I am slowly getting there. I figure once I get one of t...

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

Today I purchased a water proof liner for my large alice pack , a butt pack which I will attach to my alice , a 8' x 10' tarp , a ground pad and some ground stakes to use with my tarp (among many other uses). Still needing to get a water filtration system and some food stock. Also needing to get eit...

:words: Just my opinion but if you like your blades sharp and like them sharpened easily get a Smiths honing set with a diamond impregnated stone. Takes less than 5 minutes to get one razor sharp. The set(s) come with a variety of different type stones and a guide in which to place the blade to hold...

Re: Where do you keep your BOB???

I have an old GI foot locker which sits beside my bed , will take me about 10 seconds to roll out of bed , unlock it and grab my bag , have an emergency 38 stashed on top of the curio cabinet which is also beside my bed , it is accessable from anywhere in my bedroom by no more than 10 steps.

looking around (literally)

Was just wondering what peoples various thoughts are on a pair of binoculars versus a good high power scope (not mounted to gun) for use as an observation tool ? I have both but am leaning more to packing a scope in my bug out gear , seems as if it would be easier to pack and be just as good as bino...

what i did

I have slowly been cutting up the 4 trees that fell in our yard during the recent wind storm. So far have cut , split and stacked a pile of wood 10 feet long , 5 and a half feet high , and 4 feet deep. A little over half way thru getting it all done. Also bought new feeders for the rabbits and a new...

I should have been more specific , I am type 1 diabetic and require 4 shots per day plus take high blood pressure med. I am not overly concerned about a brief (3-7) day deal. I am more concerned with an extended period of time
