Re: Yellowstone

TV has gotten to the point where we just can't have a show about normal, healthy people living theirs lives under difficult circumstances or maybe even facing and overcoming challenges. Everyone has to be a manipulator, have a substance abuse problem or have PTSD. It may be that Hollywood simply do...

I always think of Escape to Athena When I see a C96. That movie made me actually want one with the little stock. Imagine my disappoint when I grew up and found out about the paperwork nutroll and the void of 50 State legal issues. http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/9/91/ETA_22.jpg/400px-ETA_22.jpg F...

Re: The Dead Don't Die (2019) Trailer

Finally saw this one as part of the hurricane bingeing. It was a divided household on multiple levels. It's hard to make a comedy team when you have two guys playing the straight man, but it worked for me and they pulled it off. Had to ignore the 'how much more of this are you going to watch?' comme...

Re: Adventures in rice, beans and bulk dry milk storage

Here is a bit of hard earned wisdom shared by my late FIL. He was part of the invation force to the PI durig WW2. He stayed on as an MP as part of the GCS company. He said food etc that wasn't stolen by a person's "good friends and neighbors" was taken at gunpoint as "taxes" by the local Gov't - ei...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

For an all steel revolver these are pretty light and with that short barrel it could be a nice gentleman's coat pocket gun. I mean sure it doesn't have a half cock or a safety but just load eight and you're good. They literally don't make em like this anymore. :words: I paid 300.00 for it which I c...

Re: Radio Acronyms...

That link doesn't have some slang Acro's that may be found on radio threads. For example HT is not there. HT = Handy Talkie = Walkie Talkie. No Q codes either. But here's a link for them. They're not really Acro's though I guess, and would probably not be used when 'writing' a thread. https://www.qs...

I paid 300.00 for it which I considered a little high but I did really want it. I got my date info from this forum https://www.thefirearmsforum.com/threads/age-of-a-h-r-922-9-shot-revolver.82009/ hope that helps. I saw it a while ago. Mads has perfected the 'no dialog' movie let me tell you. IIRC he played a mute cleric in some medieval movie. And a 'cowboy' that let his 6 gun do most of the talking in another.
Hes got some Cold weather survival skills.

Re: AR-15 FTF Issue

I heard things about Freedom and know a sponsored user dropped them due to FTE's. Did the bolt lock back when you fired the last round in a mag, that's important info. If it doesn't it could be an undergassing issue if its not a mag issue. 556 is more potent than 223 so it could fix an undergas temp...

Re: AR-15 FTF Issue

Did it work correctly before? Are you using 556 or 223 ammo? Do you have a pistol length gas system? If yes, this may be your culprit. Short barrels with pistol length gas systems have issues. If you're using 223 switch to 556 but only if your chambered for multi, wylde, or 556. When mag emptied did...

I would go to Fantasy Island. There I would hunt Mr. Rourke but he would be forbidden from using any of his powers. I would still lose but I would learn something about myself in the process. Mr Rourke was a robot that escaped from Westworld, he was secretly controlled by Scaramonga. Your only chan...

If you BO, is your 'Plan A' to go by vehicle, bicycle or foot? Will your BO clothing be AO matching also? What color was your kelty? IMO 3 day bags like that are more like GO bags or GBHB's that can double as GO bags. And if its not being used as 3 day, in country recon bags, color/cammo isn't somet...

After the two recent mass shootings, I figure gun rights in this country might be about to become seriously abridged, or at least a serious attempt at doing so will happen. Re: Firearms Chat 6: Year of the 10mm

Thanks, I think I understand, you're saying 'turn on', but it really means 'save' the last 30 sec and continue to save until the 'turn off' [stop saving/recording] button is pushed. At which point it starts looping in 30 second increments again. With that in mind I'd say he rang the doorbell, walked...

weird editing. Why didn't the video start from the doorbell ring and why is there a 30 second audio buffer? is 1:13 the moment he turned on the bodycam? That's the wrong time to do it IMO.

Re: How do you fix a flashlight?

On these (and others of this style) the problem isn't the "bulb" (it's an LED), it's the tailcap. Specifically, it's the metal screw/ring that holds the tailcap module in the tailcap body. I just had to fix a Lumintop AA with this problem. https://i.imgur.com/87ULjAxl.jpg See the silver ring with t...

Re: How do you fix a flashlight?

Make sure you have a fresh battery inserted the correct way (take one from a working flashlight - I've gotten dead ones straight out of a new package) and short the base of the battery to the case of the flashlight. If the light does not go on it's likely the LED module, which is probably not repai...
