Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

Hmmmm, I don't see where I posted this in this thread, thought I did already. Might have been a different thread, but bumping this with this anyhow. This is a custom made, 1 1/4 inch, equine grade leather, quick adjustable rifle sling on my Benji 392. It has heavy duty quick detach sling swivels. ht...

Re: What are you playing?

I'm on the XB1, Mac. I haven't played anything on the 360 in about three years. I don't use my PS3 much. I try to keep the controllers charged, so every couple of months recharge them. But I have a friend at work that every once in a while shoves a PS3 title in my hand and saying, 'you gotta try th...

Re: What are you playing?

I might check out some of the other Battlefield games, but "Hardlines" is out for me. I might try Battlefield 1, the WW1 one, since I've never played a WW1 based game. I grew up playing the old Medal of Honor WW2 games (and they are probably why I collect WW2 era militaria and guns), but there were...

Re: What are you playing?

Speaking of Battlefield games, the only one I've sort of played was "Battlefield: Hardlines" or whatever the one was called where you play as a cop (or was it a DEA agent?). It played ok, but I felt like my hand was being held the whole time. It felt super linear and didn't allow for any creativity...

Re: What are you playing?

Been having fun playing Battlefield V. Apparently all the additional DLC content for BFV will be free as it comes available in timed releases. In the past DLC add-ons have been $14.99 each. Or a premium pass would be $49.99 and up which gets you all the releases. And since the initial release, DICE ...

Re: Baofeng Radios.

CHIRP is not capable of making permanent changes to a radio and that is what would need to be done to even get close to being "compliant". Simply programming the radio to stay within certain limits and not programming in frequencies that you aren't allowed to transmit on does not change what the ra...

I like Aron's use of his prosthetic. Let them chomp down on it then stab the brain.
It's a very steam punk look. Yet functional.

Re: Baofeng Radios.

This will all soon be OBE as the FCC has banned the sale of these rigs. Even if the FCC bans the sale of the rigs, it seems the rigs can be made to be compliant. According to one video, chirp software can be used to make existing radios compliant if the ban really does stick. So all this would cont...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

I know in theory there are supposed to be accuracy differences between pencil barrels and standard barrels. But if going for light weight, I would look into the pencil barrels. And cut it to 14.5 inches or so and pin a hider or comp on there. Just some thoughts. I'm not a fan of the metal handguard...

Re: Baofeng Radios. TIP # 437 and 438 - DUAL WATCH FUNCTION

I just received my second Baofeng HT after ordering in from Amazon. My first is a UV5RV2+ which at the time I ordered it, was the most up to date UV5R model. There were other high power Baofeng models that were later models for higher price. But for a test, $27 was where I wanted to be price wise. I...

Re: Lifelite Pepper Ball Launcher

Not to mention that the new paintball joke will be to sub in some pepperballs. Pepperballs have been available for some years now. Mostly to LEO's for riot/crowd control. Other rounds include dye both visible and UV, solid rounds, and others. Cost keeps them out of most peoples hands, since they ar...

This is not anything really new, [...] However, regardless of how much effort the FCC puts into enforcement on this, illegal is illegal and ZS rules on posts and threads containing such things will be enforced. Yeah, I know this makes me unpopular with some members because of my rather zealous enfo...

FCC DA 18-980 Chinese BaoFeng Radio Ban Will Regulate Amateur Operators

New FCC regulation's vague language to turn what you legally own and use for all lawful purposes today, into something that makes you a criminal next month - be advised. Your low cost HAM radio is now considered a fully semi-auto, with an antenna lug, high capacity detachable battery, in tacticool b...

meh, anti-police protests are not really anti-government. That said people will likely be out on the street killing and looting in the name of peace. Re: Just getting into radio/comms

If I was paying in the $100-150 range for a CB it should be a 25watt unit. That would be illegal though. §95.967 CBRS transmitter power limits. The limit is 4 watts, 12 for SSB Wow, didn't know that and have watched a lot of YouTube videos of guys with high power amplified mobile setups. You...

Re: Just getting into radio/comms

Ah, right, its a testing fee which is $15 in my AO. In my mind it costs $$ to get the license if you have to pay for the required test. My bad. Also to add, and correct me if I'm wrong, he only needs to buy an SWR meter if he buys a tunable antenna for the CB's and even then, a 4 watt CB won't reall...

I was an art director for 10 years and yes its sad how many, "my kid designed our corp logo 20 years ago when she was 3", logos I ran across. So it didn't cost 'em anything up front.
