Re: Wuuut! Tactical Crossbow

Haven't been here in a while but I am happy to see you like the "Adder" I designed together with Ek Archery. It is based on the RX platform but sports a magazine, allowing very quick follow-up shots. This is the crossbow that I was looking for all those years. - High rate of fire - Easy to cock . W...

Re: How to fix a radiator with a Leatherman.

Apparently gerbers won't work for this scenario. It is now part of my RAM and will be recalled whenever my radiator gets shot up. I think it can work at least temporarily. Wish they would have shown a view of the pipe getting rolled up in the video. One guy rolls, one guy watches, and the cam...

Re: Ultimate off road vehicle?

Sherp got some mentions at the Vehicles of Overland Expo West 2019. Jump to 8:56 for the Sherp video. But the entire video is a viewing of some of the best overland vehicles that were there. Pretty interesting. It's one of the biggest events in the US.

This is why you should carry a candle.

This is a long ass video. But basically the guy teaches you how to start a fire in the rain. By dumping a two liter of water all over his tinder and wood. And he still starts a fire. The secret is in the candle. Feel free to fast forward thru about a third of the middle. Just be sure to watch the fi...

Re: Exterior Door Security

Here in LA there is a whole industry that provides heavy security screen doors. And welded bars over your windows. Normally only seen in the worst neighborhoods. But it's city wide. It's a necessity here. And millions of homes must have them. The black security screen doors are very typical here. As...

Re: Ultimate off road vehicle?

While the ICS looks new and appears to be in excellent shape it is actually a 2010 model. If I had ten grand laying around burning a hole in my pocket I might put an offer on it. The Sherp is indeed awesome but for $65K I can buy a whole fleet of used jeeps, or just a couple and trick them out off ...

Re: 20 Volt Multi-Tool Sets: Opinions and Experiences

I need a weedeater and a pressure washer. I know this is a stretch for this thread. But figured you guys would all be up on what to look for.

What kind of weedeater do I want? Battery operated? Gas? Electrical cord?

PRessure washer is a bit easier. But anyone have any recommendations?

Re: This is what I have, any suggestions?

I wonder what it would cost to print a map on to a bandanna? I LOVE IT! :D https://burntpointlodge.com/products/silk-maps That's a pretty rudimentary map. If you zoom for the detail. You can't see trails and roads until you get into a very small area. I would not rely on that. Your better off print...

As long as the Zippo is always in your pocket and you're refilling it regularly. [...] Oh, and make sure you function test that firestarter integrated into that paracord bracelet you have on your list. [...] Zippo, yep, agreed. But I'm a pipe smoker so I carry it anyway :) But I agree with your cau...

Photobucket really ruined forums. Winning combination? Imgur plus the Imgur extension for Chrome. So you can still load an internet image directly into your imgur without having to download it first. Then just copy and paste the url into your post. Hopefully imgur will stick around. They've been aro...

Here is my EDC I just finished putting together with my new shoulder sling bag with a molle "med" pouch attached to it. Any suggestions on what else to put in it? Just ordered a surplus Molle II medium rucksack (I have the 3 day assault pack which I use as an overnight bag - AWESOME...) but I wanted something a little bigger - I got the grade 2 version -used for $69.99 - based on the reviews of others who had bought them. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/10...

This one's for Ronnyronin. I thought of you and all your sewing projects. Not sure this would be of any help to you. But it's a football field and a half of military webbing. And 6 feet wide. In a 16' square box full. I can't imagine what this was used for. But there's a lot of good scrap in there f...
