Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

I'd agree that they like to report bad news because it gets views.

My observation:
When the economy is bad there are lots of articles on how bad it is, none on how good it is.
When the economy is good there are fewer articles on how bad it is, none (or extremely few and short) on how good it is.

Report the broken link here. There was a page there when I read it. shrug There is an 'r' missing in the link. Try this: A R...

Did you do a right/left swap with the rear wheels when you reinstalled them? It looks like the tread is going the wrong way.

Re: Is NYC Going Bankrupt?

When topics like this come up, I love bringing up Kansas. How did it fare when it cut taxes to attract outside investment. From my perspective in eastern Kansas the economy has been booming. Housing prices are increasing in the double-digits percentages indicating significant demand, new business a...

USPS Suspends Mail Delivery In Parts Of 10 States Because Of Dangerous Polar Vortex

This story was published on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019 @ 1020 hrs.
On my drive to work Wednesday morning I heard on the radio that it was so cold there wouldn't even be any e-mail delivery that day.

Excellent upgrade. Put some fluid in them or add some wheel weights (or better yet, do both) and it will be a beast. Oh, hey, could you measure the height of the lugs on those tires? I didn't do that when I bought mine and now I'm curious how much I've worn them. Not that it's an issue -- there's pl...

Re: Halfapint's Getting Some Land

Does the Johnny bucket have lift and roll functions? so can you lift the bucket and roll it down so it dumps it out? Yes, it does. It uses two 12 volt linear actuators -- one for lift & down force, and the other to dump / roll the bucket. There is an option to change the dump / roll actuator to one...

So you bent the frame using the bucket? That kind of worries me. This one has the reinforced bumper which is strong enough to lift the entire tractor. But if it’s goinf to tweet the frame I’m a bit worried. Yeah, although admittedly I was over-working it. I was moving a rock wall so I was carrying ...

Re: Halfapint's Getting Some Land

A while back I purchased a Craftsman DGS6500 garden tractor. I'd like to own a real tractor some day, but for now this will do. I put a Johnny Bucket Jr. on it from http://www.johnnyproducts.com/ . It's no hydraulic front end loader like a real tractor would have, but it sure beats a shovel and whee...

To greatly reduce the chances of getting "fakes," and actually get what you pay for, try going to an electronics distributor that caters to industry but also sells to the public instead of place that primarily sells to the general public. I've purchased from https://www.digikey.com/ for years -- the...

I have nothing to add except "Nice job." I've been a fan of DTMF control for a long time, typically with radios as the link. I've always done my own designs, and it's been a while since I've done one, but man, there's no way I'd be able to design, debug, and build a DTMF controlled relay board for t...

I help at a cat shelter. It's an all-volunteer, non-profit, no-kill, feline-only shelter. It mostly involves cleaning and making sure the cats have fresh water and food, but I've also become the go-to handyman for the group. It's not uncommon for me to find a post-it note when I arrive asking that I...

Something doesn't add up. Massachusetts has an area of 10565 square miles. The fire in question, per one of the links, has burned 56 square miles (0.5% the area of MA).

Still a massive fire, though.

Have a plan! All the radio equipment in the world is of no real use if everyone in your family/party cannot operate the radio. Plan ahead, write down the plan and practice with the radios. This point cannot be stressed enough. It's just like any other piece of gear: If you're going to get it, use i...
