Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I built a bench out of 44x posts for legs and 2x4 frame and top that was supposed to be my wife's garden bench but I re-appropriated it for reloading in the living room.

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Sorry guys I have not shipped the brass yet. A buddy of mine just got out after the end of his enlistment and brought me a huge Rubbermaid tub of fired brass he had been picking up every time her went shooting so I am going thru that as I know there is some 10mm in it and not sure about the rest yet...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

SRO,

Send me a PM and I will ship you the 357 Sig, and 38 Super I have at no cost. I'm just trying to clean out the extra casings I have picked up that I have no use for.

Any one else reload 45 GAP. I Just realized I have some of that too.

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

shoot me your address in a PM and I will send it to you free of cost. Its just taking up space here and not something I will ever use so I figured I would pass it onto members here that could use it. I think there are only 10-15 10mm casings so no big deal. If you want the 38 Super and 357 sig as we...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Any one reloading 10mm, 38 Super, or 357 Sig? I ask because I have casings in all three of those calibers that I picked up from my shooting area and I don't load any of them or even have a firearm or a friend with one chambered for them.

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Ok so earlier I was in one of my favorite gun shops here and I saw a reloaded rubber bullet. The bullet was a 38spl molded with the rubber glue from a hot glue gun no powder charge and primed with a small magnum pistol primer. The guy said he put a dent in his wooden door o his shed at 15 yards with...

I don't find issues between my ammo fired from either the a AR'S I have or the M249. fired casings seem to be identical on inspection.

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I have dies from Lee, Dillion, RCBS, and Hornady. I don't really think I have a favorite. Yes the lees are easy to work with and All of my crimp dies are lee as well as my universal de-priming die. Now that I think about it almost all of my rifle dies are RCBS and the majority of my pistol dies are ...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Doing the wet tumble in the rock tumbler has the insides of the casing just as shinny as the outside. In other new I purchased a RCBS 1500 charge master powder dispenser/digital scale. Wow does that make a difference. Previously I was measuring every load on a Hornady digital scale. With the RCBS I ...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

About two weeks ago I bought a rotary rock tumbler and stainless steel media. The tumbler has two 3lb drums. I have been running it nonstop since. The brass comes out looking like factory new unfired inside and out.. Media casings water and dish soap is the formula. I dry the casings after they get ...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I had the same issue with some 308 rounds my buddy helped me load. Turns out he was not doing a full resize so they would not chamber in my HOWA 1500 game king. I was able to remove the de-priming rod/resizer, lube up the casings and do a full resize. They worked fine after that.

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

In different news there are three less elk in AZ as of earlier this week. Two were taken with my DPMS Oracle LR-308 at 300 meters with a bushnell TRS-25 red dot and a Primary Arms 3x Magnifier and using my 185gr reloads. Hanging weights on all three were 260lbs, 261lbs and 289lbs. My wife is working...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Well I have not been on here in quite a while. Since running out of casings to load last Feb I have acquired quite a few more to keep me entertained. I made a habit of going down the street once a week where everyone shoots around here and picked up every reloadable brass casing I could find. I also...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

I recently finished reading this whole thread from start to end. Of course I did not find this thread until I had already built 7 ARs from scratch using youtube videos. I found it very fun and relaxing and built my uppers as well. Armorers wrench and upper vice block are required to do that as well ...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I used to pick up the aluminum and steel casings as well as the 22lr and recycle them. Then the only recycling center with in 1.5 hours closed so there is no where to take the things. I don't even recycle aluminum cans any more as there is no where to take them that is within a reasonable distance t...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Ok so I literally loaded the last casings I had on hand for every caliber I load for (12 different calibers). I honestly did not have a single casing left to keep me entertained, bust and out of trouble. So I took myself down the street to where everyone in my neighborhood shoots. I fired about 200 ...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

I used to get my surplus ammo cans from the swap meet here. I would make an offer and they usually took it. Lately I have migrated to the MTM plastic 50 caliber style cans over the milsurp metal ones. That is because the 100 round flip top plastic 9mm boxes fit in the mtm cans better than the milsur...

Late to the party but the Hornady loading book has a lot of loads in it that none of the other books I have come with. Actually I do my loading on a Dillon 550. I have done a very small amount on my brother in laws lee progressive but I like the Dillon I have so much better. I admit I don't use the Dillon to its full potential. I more use it as a two stage press. I take all the fired brass de-prime and resize it the...

Re: Press therapy - reloading room *chat*

Hollis, My thoughts exactly. Why put unnecessary wear on expensive firearms, wear out my brass and make my already rebuilt shoulder sore to simply punch holes in paper and the occasional Javalina or coyote. Funny thing is when I go elk hunting I only use factory ammo even though I reload 308 and 30/...
