I like it! Teotwawki already covered the typos I saw...though I swear I saw a misspelled word too, but damned if I can find it now. Regardless, great start to a cool story.

I have no idea where this one is going either and the suspense is getting to me. Must be timefor MOAR!

Re: I shall call him...James. Jimmy?

Minor update, finally got around to putting a red dot on the second upper; this one chambered in 5.56mm. Since this upper is basically just a backup and almost never used/fired I didn’t go all out on the build; steel gas block, Magpul MBUS instead of Bobro, and I just grabbed another Primary Arms ad...

Awesome story Doc... Honestly, I think this one is about the best story of yours I’ve read. Others are more refined/edited, and very well developed, but something about this one really pulled me in and made me feel like I was part of the story. Great tension and build up in the beginning, and a grea...

Pretty sure that was posted in the jeep thread on ADVrider too...recall that it was a hydraulic leak onto the exhaust. Brake fluid or clutch...both the same really. Lemme check... Edit: no additional info...same video. Crazy. Good lesson about real prepping though. It’s about surviving life’s pitfal...

Oh man... The diet’s really in trouble now. Did up a pork shoulder for pulled pork tonight and all I can say is :awesome: Basic rub with a few types of pepper, some spices and only 4 teaspoons of salt total, but plenty for a good bark: https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-cVkRgSd/0/88dd2455/XL/i-cVkR...

Ok... Back from running errands and had about an hour before some college football, so off we go! Forgot how much I prefer billet uppers with a blind recess for the dust cover rod every time I have to mess around with these fiddly little e-clips: https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-gLPpwPs/0/00d65c5...

Zero experience with their AK or Galil triggers, but have installed and shot several ACT and QMS triggers. They “feel” about the same to me, but I’m not a match-level shooter and am not that sensitive to trigger weight. I suck regardless of the pull! I do feel the difference between the ALG op...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

For triggers, I really like the Larue MBT2 , and it's currently $87. There's also a chance to win one of their "ultimate upper" kits, though the odds are probably somewhere between "terrible" and "lol worthy". I can't say they're economical...or necessarily actually good (I've never used either)......

Yet another upper build...

So after going through a caliber change (300BLK to 6.8SPC-II), my primary pig gun Kermit finally gets another upper. Posted over in the “what have you bought lately” thread that even though I really (really!) don’t need another 5.56 upper, the Primary Arms barrel with a free upper receiver for under...

"The Stormlight Archive", by Brandon Sanderson. There are currently 4 books in the series, out now. "The Way of Kings", "Words of Radiance", "Edgedancer", and "Oathbringer". There is supposed to be 10 volumes in all. So far, three of these are over 1000 pages. They kept me busy and enthralled. I hi...

The original paint finally completely flaked off my AAC TiRant .45 can, so I took the housing in yesterday to have it Cerakoted burnt bronze. Already complete! https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-DQsJGfm/0/baddb4df/XL/i-DQsJGfm-XL.jpg Got home from work too late to get a pic in good light, but here ...

Well, I told myself I wasn’t gonna do it but after a quick peek in my spares stash I went ahead and bought the barrel/free upper receiver dealio I mentioned over in the “time to stock the caches” thread. Grabbed a mid-length Magpul MOE hand guard on sale for $30 too. Seems like I already have all th...
