Re: USMC Combat tent pole length?

Thought I would bump, in the hopes someone has one they could measure before saturday AM, as I was planning on using it saturday eve. Guess I'm going to wing it. Just checked mine, I have two longer pole sets - 6 pieces each. 5 of 6 (those with only one 2.5" metal female end) are 27" total length, ...

Hmmmm...I'm intrigued. Sewing is involved, I take it? Do you have a reference or instructions?

Thanks!

Re: Poleless Litter recommendations?

Good points. While I plan on keeping it in my car, but I'm also part of the MS State Guard, and will include it in my deployment bag. That way when we get deployed during a disaster, we have some litters. However, a poleless takes up a LOT less space than the NAR Talon II we have. And yeah, after us...

Poleless Litter recommendations?

So, I recently moved to rural Mississippi after retiring from the Navy and picking up a job at the nuclear plant down here. My commute has gone from 3.6 miles door to door to almost 30, and I'm looking to be better prepared for any accidents I might come across (especially with the deer activity pic...

Re: Hammock Camping Questions

Uh, I'd be real cautious about using the slapstraps...they're made of nylon and have a tendency to stretch like crazy. I'd invest in the Atlas straps, ratcheting tie-down straps, or a couple pieces of good climbing-quality rope instead. You know, that's not the first time I've heard that about the ...

Re: Hammock Camping Questions

If you can trying hanging it up in your house, just get the Atlas Straps and not the pro straps. I bought a singlenest a few years ago and I set it up in my basement, between two support poles. I remember I just wanted to relax in it for a bit to see how it was. So when the kids went to bed at 9pm ...

Re: Murph's Backpacking Gear (aka BOB)

I have both the ENO double nest and a Hennessy exped asym.. Running the Hennessy as-is; only added tree savers. I did quite a bit of customization on the ENO to make it backpack friendly: replaced the default lines with whoopie slings and after-market tree savers, added a ridgeline, added the ENO b...

Looking at your images, you're right. Those bottom openings look to be an exact match, so I should be able to get a Molle waist belt and it should work. Thanks!

DEI 1609 compatible hip belts?

So I have a used MOLLE medium ruck as shown below, but it doesn't have the DEI 1609 frame or the hip belt. Now, getting the 1609 frame from DEI is easy, but I'm not sure of where I can get a hip belt. Does anyone know what hip belts are compatible with the 1609 frame? Thanks! Edited to update image....
