Re: Equipping Your fire Team

2 sks's for quick close to mid range engagements, 2 m1's for more range and precision. Each 2 can share ammo between themselves. 1 30-30 for me, preferably with a 16 inch barrel. I dont want a lot of weight and it would be good for scouting ahead. I'm pretty damn good with a lever action.

I like the 92A1 personally over the 92FS due to being able to swap out the front sight.

Picked up an FNS 40 from PSA for $359 new. Came with 3 magazines and a stainless slide. Great deal.

Re: Any incipient panic buying in your AO?

.22 lr has been hard to find here in south FL since 2012. Luckily I have a few thousand rounds still tucked away for my 10/22, I also purchased some replacement parts for it a few weeks ago too for a "just in case something breaks." Since the recent Orlando shooting, I bought another ccw to my LC9 a...

Honda Elite Scooter

I picked up a 2007 Honda Elite 80 (CH80) scooter today from a nearby retired alligator hunter(true story) for $400. Its a 50cc 4 stroke with about 13k miles and still running strong. Missing a few pieces of body molding, so basically cosmetic stuff to buy and replace, but its ready to drive as is. I...

Re: Can't decide on bug out weapons. Help?

Short term bug out, my wife and I are just gonna be CC our pistols. She has a Ruger SR22 that she's real good with and would carry a bunch of extra ammo for it. Me...well I got a new .44 mag I'd consider taking over my glock just to be that guy. Long term shes taking the Marlin 795 with extended mag...

Re: Jurassic Park make-believe

I personally would want: Rifle/shotgun: Marlin lever action in 45/70 or a semi auto 12 gauge with a folding stock. Basically something not too heavy to carry on patrol but powerful enough to slow something chasing me down. Pistol: Glock 21 or a Super Redhawk. A few rounds of .45 might make a raptor ...

Re: Ruger Redhawk and the 45 colt

Update: After doing a bunch of browsing and reading I've decided on a Ruger 0814 Super Blackhawk stainless in .44 mag. The ammo is more readily available and I'd be able to shoot .44 special too. Plus the gun is about $250 bucks cheaper than the redhawk. :awesome:

There's a japanese company that makes real nice 30mm tube red dots. It called Ultra dot. I have one one my AR, zero issues, for about $160-180. Primary arms also makes a decent budget red dot.

I gave the blackhawks a look. I'd rather have a double action and swing out cylinder though. Very nice guns though and lots of calibers.

Ruger Redhawk and the 45 colt

I have a fair amount of semi auto pistols and rifles. A couple .357 and .38 revolvers too. I'd like to add 1 more to my collection and figure I'd step it up into the big bore gang. Having only gone up to .357 mag and 10mm, I'm not too sure what to expect in .41 mag and beyond. I figure of course a h...

FN P90 with an Aimpoint Micro
FN Five-Seven with TLR-1 for sidearm.
S&W Model 36 for back up just because I'm classy.

A ruger sp101 in .357 with the 4in. barrel or a glock 30s loaded with some buffalo bore would be my vote. For non lethal, a can of good bear spray and a whistle.

Re: First Pistols, need advice 9mm and 22lr same ergonomics

For something similar as others have stated, the m&p22 and m&p9 are great choices. But, I for one am gonna vote for you to get 2 different pistols. That way you can learn on 2 different style trigger systems. Da/Sa and striker fired. A ruger SR22 is a great da/sa 22 that will eat everything. And a g...

Re: Bear and feral pigs whilst running

A glock 29/30 should be pretty good. I've seen feral hogs taken with a 1911 in .45 before. I personally would carry a .357 with a 4 in. barrel. Maybe a SP101 or a S&W. Load up with some buffalo bore for those black bear.

Re: Considering a Glock 30S

Thanks for the replies guys. I've been checking out a few other handguns I would like as well, but the Glock 30S just feels right, is at a good price, and the 30 seems to have a great track record. Might get a trust soon to get a suppressor. Glock 30S with a can? Yes please.

Considering a Glock 30S

I have a couple of glocks in 9mm and .40s&w already and recently handled a 21 and 30S and my lgs. I personally dont have any .45acp stocked at the moment but my father being a big 1911 guy has a bunch. His house is a possible bug in location. The 30S has the smaller slide but same capacity 10+1 as t...

Forget about the P22, it's an alright gun but it's hit and miss. Go with the ruger SR22. It's about the same size and eats everything. I got one for my wife and she loves it. 400+ rounds so far with no issues.

Batteries and leds in general have come a long way and majority of people charge their phones daily. I have a charger and a cheap flashlight in the car for emergencies.
