Re: The Importance of understanding the application of 3:1 r

3:1 in a combat situation where the enemy communicates, moves tactically and is armed. As opposed to zombies, who just move forward toward food... I don't believe the 3:1 belongs in the same sentence as zombies. lol

Re: Invasion Right Now! The first six hours, what would you

Firearms dont matter much in modern wars.Just imagine that americans have had Mosin-Nagant rifles and the iraqese had the best AR you can think of with all optical stuff possible. And with lots of shooting practice. Who would have won that war? I like how you always completely miss the point, anyway...

Re: Sleeping with a gun under your pillow?

I have done it once out in the field, I would never recommend it. I don't move much during sleep, but even in my bivvy it did end up moving. Now, I simply holster my pistol (one in the chamber) but I put the holster in my bivvy at my side. I'm able to draw it just as quick, if not quicker due to the...

Re: Invasion Right Now! The first six hours, what would you

My respect to the veterans. You know better then anyone else here that combat is not just shooting. And the best use for the veteran in case of invasion is to join the military. With all due respect (Fellow servicemen will get that,) the best thing we can do is to train those in need. As it is not al...

Re: Invasion Right Now! The first six hours, what would you

I am fairly certain this will not be one of the first target cities. Which means, I would be given a little extra time to decided on whether I'd bug in or out and organize with my fellow local ZSers. If we decided to bug out, we'd gather our gear (I keep bug out bags for my children and I,) and take...

Re: Best state to be a Prepper in?

I think Eastern Washington is right up near the top. Gun laws aren't over-bearing, 4 seasons, good distance from Seattle and Portland, Short trip to Idaho and Montana, good hunting and fishing, plenty of trees, natural disasters are very rare... All in all, I'd say this is where I'm staying.

Re: What if headshots DON'T work?

In theory, you wouldn't have to necessarily kill them with the shots. Severing the spinal column would immobilize them for all intents and purposes. I'd rather dispatch a stationary zombie anyway. So basically, try for base of the neck to the back of the head. From that point on, cautiously advance,...

Detecting Life

During a ride-along with a local LEO we responded to a call of a woman that had found her husband dead in his room after she returned from a weekend trip. I never thought much about this, but you know that feeling you get when someone is in the room, even if you can't see them you can still sense th...
